Oshi No Ko Anime Reveals New Trailer, Yoasobi’s Opening Song, New Cast Members

Megumi Han will be playing the role of Kana Arima. Yoasobi’s opening theme song ‘Idol’ teased.

In a live-streamed event held on Sunday, for a television anime of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokari’s Oshi No Ko manga, released a full trailer of Oshi No Ko: Mother and Children theatrical screening and also previewed Yoasobi’s opening theme song ‘Idol’.

It was also revealed that Megumi Han will be playing the role of Kana Arima.

Oshi No Ko Cast

The Anime will premier in April, but starting March 17 the 90-min long first episode will play in advance screening in cinemas across Japan. The screening will also play the opening theme song ‘Idol’.

The previously announced cast:

  • Rie Takahashi in the role of Ai Hoshino
  • Takeo Otsuka in the role of Aquamarine Hoshino
  • Yurie Igoma in the role of Ruby Hoshino
  • Kento Ito in the role of Goro
  • Tomoyo Takayanagi in the role of Sarina
  • Yumi Uchiyama in the role of Aquamarine (young)

Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) and Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail) will be the directors for the series at Doga Kobo.  Jin Tanaka (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) will be handling the scripts & Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend) will be adapting the character designs.

About Oshi No Ko:

Aka Akasaka wrote the story and illustrations are done by Mengo Yokari. The manga is being serialized by Shuesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020 and 10 volumes are currently available.

Shuesha’s Manga PLus is releasing the manga digitally in English.

Yen Press has licensed the manga for English distribution and describes the manga,

“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus.
