One Piece’s Tony Tony Chopper is a Mascot For Doctors Without Borders

The spotlight has returned to Chopper as of late as he is now an Official Supporter of the non-profit Doctors Without Borders

On March 20, 2026, during an event with Doctors Without Borders, it was announced that the One Piece character Tony Tony Chopper would be an “Official Supporter” for the organization.

To celebrate, author Eiichiro Oda drew visual of Chopper based on the organization’s symbolic “running person” logo, representing the act of running to deliver medical care.

“A small doctor with a big heart embarks on a humanitarian journey”

MSF notes that, “Chopper’s commitment to heal anyone, regardless of who they are, truly resonates with MSF’s medical ethics and core values of impartiality, neutrality and independence.”

Of note, there is a lot of coincidence to this announcement, as the recent Season 2 of the One Piece Live-Action introduces Chopper to the live-action watching audience and the latest chapter shows a potential new power-up for the character that cures the condition of Demonic possession.
