In a recent interview with Deadline, live-action One Piece’s executive producers, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, revealed some exciting information regarding the live-action adaptation of the series.

When Deadline asked the producers regarding season 2, Adelstein said that they have hopes for 12 seasons and that the series has so much content.

Clements added that with the number of manga chapters that are already out right now, they and Matt Owens have plans on how to break it into multiple seasons.

According to her, by season 6, only half of the manga would get adapted, and the series could literally go on and on.

Deadline then asked about the plans that Tomorrow Studios have with Matt Owen, showrunner, regarding the live-action.

Clement replies by mentioning that everything they do is with the agreement of Netflix, Shueisha, and author Eiichiro Oda.

She further said that they have already had a thorough discussion regarding season 2, if they get the opportunity for it.

They also have a less detailed plan for seasons three to six. She further adds that all the parties responsible for live-action are unified, and the manga cannot be removed under any circumstance.

While official confirmation of season 2 for One Piece’s live-action adaptation has been announced, they are preparing with future seasons in mind.
