One Piece Film Red Crosses 20 Billion Yen In Japan!

The movie became the eighth movie in Japan to ever cross 20 billion yen.

One Piece again made history. This time, it is the franchise’s latest film, One Piece Film Red, which has crossed the historic milestone at the Japanese Box Office.

On October 30, the movie became the eighth movie in Japan to ever cross 20 billion yen (143.08 million USD) in earnings.

The official Twitter account for the franchise celebrated the milestone by sharing a commemorative poster.

Originally released on August 6, 2022, the movie is currently holding its encore screenings in Japan, which is continuously topping the box office charts.

In just two weeks of its re-release, the movie has made 300 million yen in revenue, with 230,000 tickets sold.

Combined with the earnings during the original run, it makes over 14.5 million tickets sold.

The original ran from August 6, 2022, to January 29, 2023, becoming the fifth highest grossing film and the 8th highest grossing in Japan of all time.

One Piece is a Japanese manga series by author Eiichiro Oda.

Eiichiro Oda started the serialization of the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine on July 19, 1997.

On March 3, 2023, the latest volume, Volume 105, was published, and the next volume will be published on July 6.

One Piece has also received an anime adaptation. The TV anime has released 1064 episodes.

The latest entry in the franchise, One Piece Film Red, premiered in Japan in August 2022.

It is the 8th highest-earning film of all time in Japan and also topped Japan’s box office for the year 2022 in terms of both yen earned and tickets sold.
