On the occasion of the anime adaptation of “No Game No Life” reaching its tenth anniversary, Yuu Kamiya, the author of the original light novels, has ignited enthusiasm within the fandom by going on to Twitter, on April 9, 2024, to express his strong wish for a second season of the anime, a sentiment that resonates deeply with hard-core anime fans.

“It’s the tenth anniversary of No Game No Life. Please make a second season!”

The series having no Season 2 has become a meme amongst the fandom at this point. For a show such as this, an anime adaptation is made with just one season in mind with the intention of purely promoting the original light novels. But now that Classroom of the Elite has received more than 1 season, fans can look up to the sky and pray that No Game No Life shall receive the same treatment.

About No Game No Life:

“No Game No Life” is a Japanese light novel series authored by Yuu Kamiya, published under the MF Bunko J imprint. Spanning twelve novels from April 25, 2012, to February 25, 2023, the series garnered significant attention across the world.

Kamiya and his wife, Mashiro Hiiragi, adapted the novels into a manga series for Monthly Comic Alive in 2013. The excitement continued with the announcement of an anime adaptation by Madhouse later that year.

Premiering on AT-X between April and July 2014, the anime was simulcast worldwide by Crunchyroll. The franchise expanded further with an anime film adaptation of the sixth volume titled “No Game, No Life Zero,” debuting on July 15, 2017.

Additionally, a spinoff manga titled “No Game No Life, Please!” focused on the character Izuna, captivating readers from May 27, 2015, to November 27, 2017.

Crunchyroll describes the overall plot of No Game No Life as follows:

They are both NEETs and Hikikomoris… but on the internet, the genius gamer siblings Sora and Shiro are known as the undefeatable “__” (blank). Sora and Shiro’s talents and skills are so abnormally good they are considered as urban legend. One day a young boy Teto appears before them, claiming to be “One’s Lord”.
