On May 31, 2025, at the Tudum Netflix event, One Piece Live-Action released a teaser for Season 2 that is set for a release in 2026.

Previously, Netflix also released a teaser showing Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji in Nami’s room watching a teaser from a snail projector.

In this teaser, we get our first look of the live-action version of the newest Straw Hat crew member, Tony-Tony Chopper, who comes out shyly to greet the Tudum audience and shows off some of Chopper’s quirks, including the tsundere act after being complimented.

Chopper will be played by Mikaela Hoover, both voice and motion-capture.

Mikaela Hoover is known for her part in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as Floor the Rabbit and an upcoming role in another James Gunn film, “Superman”, as Cat Grant.

For a long time, fans have expressed worry about adapting Chopper into live-action, whether it will be in costume like the Fish-Men or in full CGI like the giant creatures in One Piece.

Fans are mixed on the reveal but are mostly optimistic that they will be used to seeing Chopper this way.

In his message, Eiichiro Oda says:

“The key to Season 2 is, of course. our weird talking animal. After extensive trial and refinement by the entire team, the day has come to finally unveil him!! From his and furs to his and and even lighting and gravity simulation — a world-class team brought their skills together in bringing Tony-Tony Chopper to life, and now he’s ready to be introduced to the world!! Check him out!!”
