On October 4, 2025, My Hero Academia Final Season is confirmed to have a total of 12 episodes.

The first episode of the season, Episode 160: “Toshinori Yagi: Rising/Origin” spent half its runtime with a recap but would adapt Chapters 399-400.

Notably Chapter 398, where the episode title is from, was adapted in the final episode of the previous season.

This means the remaining 11 episodes will adapt over 32 chapters, potentially including the extra chapters after Chapter 431 and brings the total episode count to 171 across 8 seasons.

Season 8’s opening song, “The Revo” is performed by Porto Graffiti, who handled the very first opening “The Day”, which is referenced in this opening as well.

Meanwhile, the ending song, which has yet to play, will be performed by rock band “Bump of Chicken”, likely set for October 11.
