Kingdom & Blue Lock Top Oricon’s May Top 20 List!

Kaiju No.8, Haikyu!!, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Jujutsu Kaisen managed to stay in the top 10.

On Saturday, Oricon released its top 20 manga series list for the month of May, which was topped by Kingdom and Blue Lock.

Kaiju No.8, Haikyu!!, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Jujutsu Kaisen managed to stay in the top 10.

My Hero Academia stuck on to the 13th spot, despite being in its finale arc. Mashle: Magic and Muscles ranked 14th, while Oshi no Ko reached the 16th spot. 

About Blue Lock:

Blue Lock is a Football manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.

It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018, with its chapters collected in 28 tankōbon volumes as of March 2024.

In October 2022 to March 2023, an anime television series adaptation created by Eight Bit was broadcasted.

A forthcoming anime film adaptation, derived from the Episode Nagi manga, is scheduled to make its debut in April 2024.

The confirmation of a second season has been made as well.

Japan’s desire for World Cup glory leads the Japanese Football Association to launch a new rigorous training program to find the national team’s next striker.

Three hundred high school players are pitted against each other for the position, but only one will come out on top.

Who among them will be the striker to usher in a new era of Japanese soccer?
