Kagurabachi on HIATUS
One of the biggest hits of the decade, Kagurabachi is now experiencing the immense weight of its success as the series enters its first big hiatus.
On June 17, 2026, it was announced that Takeru Hokazono, the author of Kagurabachi, will be on hiatus, starting with Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 31, which releases on June 29. Chapter 125 is still set to come out next Sunday on June 21.
Hokazono wanted to continue working on the series, but after discussions, it was decided that he will be taking a break for a while so the manga can continue in a more stable way moving forward.
Kagurabachi is considered the biggest hit of the new batch of Weekly Shonen Jump works, having reached 4 million copies after 11 volumes.
This has been noticeable due to Hokazono taking two breaks this year, first on May, then on June.
The series is currently planned to return around August.
This means this will be two months without Kagurabachi.
To be clear, this is only a hiatus, not a cancellation.
