On December 8, voice acting agency Haikyo announced that voice actor Junichi Suwabe will go on hiatus due to a health issue starting January 1, 2024.

Junichi’s return to work is not yet confirmed and will be announced at a later time.

Due to this, he will not appear in the Osaka performance of the Premier Music Reading Theatre VOICARION XVII – Spoon’s Shield on January 6 and 7, 2024.

Voice actor Koichi Yamadera will replace him for the appearance.

On his blog, Suwabe explained his situation. He shared that he has no problem with work or daily life, but his doctor has recommended that he have the surgery as soon as possible.

After much deliberation, he concluded that he should eliminate even the slightest cause for concern and decided to go on hiatus.

However, he will work according to the planned schedule for 2023. At the end of his post, Suwabe wrote,

“I will do my best to recover from the surgery so I can return to work as soon as possible!”
