In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriayam’s Dragon Ball manga, the franchise released the Dragon Ball Super Gallery Project.

Each month, the gallery features a new rendition of a volume cover by famous artists and mangakas.

For the month of November, Jujutsu Kaisen’s author, Gege Akutami, redrew the volume cover of volume 41.

Alongside illustrations, artists also provide their comments. Below is the translation of Aukutami’s comment:

“When I used to go to a bar that my father’s friend owned, I was able to wait for the adults to drink because there were all the volumes for Dragon Ball.

To be able to be involved in such a project after 25 years, I am beyond overwhelmed with emotion and don’t understand why.”

The Dragon Ball Super Gallery project was inaugurated by the Saikyo Jump magazine of Shueisha in the September 2021 issue.

The gallery will conclude in November 2024, with all 42 volumes covers being redrawn.

It began with the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, who drew the cover of volume 11 in August 2021.
