JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stage Musical Again Cancels Opening Days
The staff announced that they would be offering refunds for the tickets.
The official website for the stage musical of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Phantom Blood arc announced that the staff is canceling the February 10 and 11 performances.
Previously, the staff also canceled performances for the first three days of February 6–8.
TOHO and the Imperial Theater venue stated that cancellations have been made as they need more time to ensure the safety of staff and cast.
The staff announced that they would be offering refunds for the tickets. Furthermore, they will offer to pay cancellation fees for the transportation and lodging arrangements of ticket holders.
In the event that ticket holders are not able to cancel lodging or transportation, staff are even willing to pay the entire amount.
The staff is also planning to stream the live performance later for ticket holders of canceled performances for free.
Now the musical will run in Tokyo’s Imperial Theater from February 12–28 (except Fridays).
Later, from March 26–30, in Hokkaido’s Sapporo Culture Arts Theater Hitaru.
Then, in the Hyogo Performing Arts Center, Kobelco Grand Hall, from April 9–14.
The cast for the musical includes:
- Yuya Matsushita and Shotaro Arisawa as Jonathan Joestar
- Mamoru Miyano as Dio Brando
- Young Dais as Robert E.O. Speedwagon
- Yoshihisa Higashiyama and Yusuke Hirose as Will A. Zeppeli
- Yamato Kochi as Jack the Ripper
- Jumpei Shimada as Wang Chan
- Kong Kuwata as Dario Brando
- Tetsuya Bessho as George Joestar I
Nei Hasegawa is directing the musical. He previously directed, scripted, and choreographed Araki’s Shikkochu Datsugoku Shinkochu manga’s stage adaptation in 2015.
Dove Attia, a French composer, is working on the music, and Tsuneyasu Motoyashi is writing the script.
Viz Media has released multiple parts of JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure manga and describes Phantom Blood as:
“Young Jonathan Joestar’s life is forever changed when he meets his new adopted brother, Dio.
For some reason, Dio has a smoldering grudge against him and derives pleasure from seeing him suffer.
But every man has his limits, as Dio finds out. This is the beginning of a long and hateful relationship!”
