Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run Releases Official Trailer and Longest Jojo Episode to Date
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run releases its second and main trailer, showing more of the characters involved, along with the franchise’s first hour-long episode.
On December 20, 2025, Netflix releases the official trailer for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run, featuring the start of the race and the lineup of main characters: Diego Brando, Pocoloco, and Sandman
Notably, we hear the sound of Spin from the Steel Balls Gyro has being the same sound effect as Hamon, reminding fans that Spin is the new universe’s version of Hamon.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run will releases Episode 1 on March 19, 2026 and it will be a 47-minute special-length episode.
Considering the length and the episode being the “First Stage” of the Steel Ball Run race, this will likely cover the first two volumes of the series, from Chapter 1: “The Steel Ball Run: Press Conference” to Chapter 11: “The Final Stretch: 1,000 Meters Left”, for a total of 372 pages.
This is due to how most of the trailer will likely take place in Episode 1 and would make sense to start the series with the race’s start, as well as Johnny Joestar’s backstory.
With the announcement that the “First Stage” will be released on March 19th and the word “batch” is not specified, this indicates that unlike Stone Ocean (2021-2022), Steel Ball Run will not be a batch release, which has made many fans worry due to the lack of hype and excitement for the series.
Steel Ball Run makes up 24 volumes and 95 chapters, with the first 23 chapters being published in Weekly Shonen Jump from ebruary 2, 2004 to October 18, 2004, before moving to the monthly Ultra Jump from March 19, 2005 to April 19, 2011.
With this amount of chapters and the pacing of the first episode, we might look at a 24 episode anime series, returning to the length of the first Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series.
For context, majority of Jojo episodes adapt an average of 4 weekly chapters, each about 20 pages in length.
As Steel Ball Run’s first 23 chapters were weekly, half of the weekly content being done in the length of 2 episodes is within reason.
This will mark one of many significant changes, including Sandman’s introduction being moved somewhat later, likely to another episode where he is more relevant.
