January Just Started and Jujutsu Kaisen Created 2026’s Most Iconic Anime Meme
Lobotomy Kaisen has returned with this iconic anime-only scene and it is still beyond anyone’s control at this rate.
Not many people imagined this hated character would get the spotlight but ever since the release of the hour-long premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 on January 8, 2026, this one frame from Naoya Zenin’s fight with Choso brought back the hype for Jujutsu Kaisen memes.
In this scene at the start of their fight, Naoya Zenin shows his superior speed and Projection Sorcery by flipping his hair with one hand while the other effortlessly punches Choso like a punching bag.
This is an anime-only scene not found in the manga and yet has became an instant sensation.
Across the internet, many have paroided the scene with original fanart or edits of the same, replacing Naoya and/or Choso with different characters.
Scenes like Reigen and Mob (Mob Psycho 100), Goku vs Cell or Hit (Dragon Ball) and more have dominated social media.
We even see the meme referenced in more official terms.
On January 18, Argentine animator NineGonzalo shared a tweet revealing his in-between animation work on Episode 3 of Fate/strange Fake, which featured the fight between Caster and Jester (False Master of False Assassin)
Within the tweet, he included a custom “Thanks for Watching” card parodying Naoya Zenin’s smug hair flip, with the eyepatch-wearing Caster performing the hair flip, signifying how much of an impact the scene and Jujutsu Kaisen had on the animator.
The meme has become such a pop culture mainstay that only 4 days after the episode’s release, on January 12, the official McDonalds Twitter account posted their own fanart, featuring their character, the Hamburglar.
