Is Blue Lock Ending Soon?
Will Blue Lock end on the U-20 World Cup rather than have Blue Lock join the actual World Cup?

On August 4, 2025, we got the release of Blue Lock Volume 35 and it comes with a message from the artist, Yusuke Nomura
“At last, it begins… The FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP’
Up to this point, we’ve navigated many twists and turns, constantly asking ourselves, “Like this? Is it going to turn out like this?!”, as we all moved forward and built this story.
Now that it has begun, I believe we are heading toward the conclusion that lies ahead.
Even if it’s imperfect, I intend to proceed carefully, one step at a time, so that what we ultimately create will be etched into a corner of all your memories.
And now, KICK OFF!!”
Some fans have remarked that the past 10 chapters, the contents for Volume 35, did not feel like a buildup towards a final arc and that will leave an unsatisfying resolution as there have been plots leading towards either the Olympics or the World Cup, such as Isagi vs Noel Noa and of course the whole point of Blue Lock and Jinpachi Ego’s dream being the creation of the best striker from the 299 candidates since the start of the series.
However, some fans have also remarked that it is for the best to not have a repetitive formula of two World Cups, one for juniors and the other for adults, since it would come off as repetitive.
There are other indications, like how Blue Lock does not talk about the actual Japan national team and the fact that the U-2o World Cup has so many teams to pit Blue Lock against, meaning this “beginning” is a signal of a much longer arc than the Neo-Egoist League, which is one of the longest manga arcs with its 150 chapters.
With how much hype this arc has been given, it is likely that Blue Lock will end with the U-20 World Cup being a substitute for the World Cup.
