On December 21, 2025, for Jump Festa 2026, Hell’s Paradise reveals its main trailer, featuring the series’ second opening.

Trailers Breakdown

For the first trailer, we see the Tan pit.

Rien, in her true, female voice, explains to Aza Chobei that the island Kotaku is actually a laboratory, a garden to create and observe the Elixir of Life while Chobei is tied up to a bed.

Rien observes multiple flowers, which are a reference to the Tensen’s true natures and the basis of their names.

As the opening plays, we see Tao Fa regenerating from a blow from Gantetsusai and charges towards him while wanting to befriend the intruders.

Each Tensen expresses how they view humans.

Tao Fa views humans as filthy creatures.

In a matter of fact way, Gui Fa views humans merely as ingredients for the Elixir.

Ran declares that his opponents, Gabimaru, Sagiri and Yuzuriha, will be sacrifices, which is from him explaining the Rite of Just Consumption that requires humans with the Five Tao Elements.

As Sagiri declares that she refuses to see anymore people die, we cut to Yamada Asaemon Shugen arriving on the island as he sees Eizen’s corpse.

With the opening’s chorus, we see all the battles:

Gabimaru facing off against Chobei, Chobei’s fight against Rien, the revenge match of Yamada Asaemon Shion and Nurugai against Zhu Jin, Gantetsusai and Yamada Asaemon Fuchi against Tao Fa, Yuzuriha sneaking up on Ran, and Shugen’s group against the monsters of the island.

Shugen declares that both criminals and monsters will be slain, in contrast to a previous line about how both the criminals and samurai on the island are the same, made of blood, flesh and bone and desiring to live.

Chobei adapts to his Flower Tao, making his brother Toma frightened.

We see other cuts, including Tao Fa and Ju Fa’s combined Kishikai and Gabimaru awakening Flower Tao, with the trailer ending with Rien declaring that everything will end tonight.

For the second trailer, the Vanguard Party sees the fused religious sculptures within the Palace of Horai, with Sagiri expressing how the longer they stay on the island, the more complicated things become and that happens with the arrival of the Iwagakure shinobi and an additional four Yamada Asaemon led by Shugen.

Shion remarks that from here they cannot predict what will happen next or who will die.

Sagiri expresses how in spite on being on opposing sides at first, she now wishes than none of them die meanwhile Yuzuriha will prioritize her own life.

We see multiple new scenes, such as the fight between Ran and Gabimaru, Chobei taking on some Soshin, and Chobe and Rien engaging in Bocho Jutsu, with Toma wondering if Chobei is gaining all this power for his sake.

As the ending plays, we see Fuchi mourning over Senta’s grave, more scenes of Gabimaru vs Chobei, Gantetsusai pummeling Toma to the ground, flashbacks of Mei and Hoko’s time together as Hoko passes on, Shion and Nurugai facing off against Zhu Jin, what appears to be Tao Fa and Ju Fa preparing to fuse, and ending on Gabimaru thinking about his wife Yui.

Kaori Makita’s Message

The director, Kaori Makita, has left a message, where she looks back at the first season.

“In which episodes from the first season left the biggest impression on me…
I have a special attachment to all of them, but the ones that made the biggest impression on me were Sagiri’s conflict in episodes 2 and 5. Sagiri’s pain was carefully portrayed
, including events from her childhood, her interactions with Genji in Shinsenkyo
, and the scene where she was told to go home because she was a woman. As a woman myself, I was able to empathize with her in parts.
Episode 2 presents her conflict, episode 5 resolves it, and episode 6 leads to her growth.
The first season brings Sagiri’s story to a complete conclusion.
While the first season particularly carefully depicts Sagiri’s emotional flow, episode 1 also delves deeper into Gamimaru’s character.
Because episode 1 of the original manga was so well-crafted, we faithfully portrayed it in the anime.
I believe the developments in episode 13 resonate even more strongly because episode 1 shows Gamimaru caring deeply for his wife.
The structure of the original manga, as well as Kindaichi’s writing, are also very logical,
easy to read, and understand.
In particular, everything I wanted to portray in “Hell’s Paradise” is condensed into episode 1.
If you pay attention to Gamimaru and Sagiri in episodes 1, 2, and 5,
I think you’ll get a better feel for the themes of “Hell’s Paradise. “
