Guinness World Records Declares Jujutsu Kaisen The World’s Most Popular Anime!
Jujutsu Kaisen has become the most in demand animated show, beating One Piece and Attack on Titan.
On April 4, the anime adaptation of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga became the most-in-demand animated TV show of 2023, the title that Attack on Titan has held since 2020.
According to Parrot Analytics, a data-science firm based in California, Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime has a global demand rating 71.2 times greater than that of the average TV show.
The firm calculated the demang based on how much attention, engagement, desire and viewership are expressed by the consumers of the content.
It captures billions of data points each day, including video consumption, social media engagements and research actions.
Gen Z comprised 71.3% of Jujutsu Kaisen viewers, while Gen Z only comprised 56.7% and 64.4% of the total viewership of One Piece and Attack on Titan, respectively.
Attack on Titan concluded its final season in November 2023 and remained extremely popular, while One Piece received a boost in interest due to the release of the live-action adaptation.
However, Jujutsu Kaisen took the lead with its end-of-year surge due to the release of the second season of the anime.
Season 2 began airing in July and continues until the end of the year. Throughout its airing, the demand for it kept on increasing and peaked on December 29, with the demand being 128 times that of the average show.

Studio MAPPA brought the world of JJK into anime by airing 24 episodes of season 1 from October 2020 to March 2021 and a second season that premiered in July 2023. A sequel covering the “Culling Game” arc has been announced.
