On March 30, 2026, as the Final Season of Golden Kamuy ended, it was announced that there would be more episodes coming in Winter 2027, a full year after the final season.

Episode 13 of the Golden Kamuy Final Season ends on Chapter 302: “Mayhem on the Train”, which sets up the final battle of the entire series.

There are only 14 chapters left to adapt, which means this would be a shorter continuation in the form of 4 or 6 episodes or even a movie adaptation, as most anime movies can cover from 12 to even 20 weekly manga chapters in a less than 2 hour runtime.

The Final Season itself saw a compilation film, “Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kōjō-hen”, released in two parts from October 10 to 31, 2025, which comprised Episode 1: “Town of Reunions” to Episode 4: “Making a Homeland”

Originated adapted by Geno Studio for its first three seasons, the Golden Kamuy anime adaptation was first released on April 9, 2018, meaning it will be nearly 9 years to the start of the anime adaptation, across potentially up to 68 episodes and 5 OVAs, as well as two live-action films and live-action TV series after the first, with the live-action finishing the first half of the manga with the Abashiri Prison Raid film that released on March 13, 2026.
