The Gintama 20th Anniversary Project will run from 2023, the 20th anniversary of the Gintama manga, to 2026, the 20th anniversary of the Gintama TV anime.

On Tuesday, October 10 (Japan time), the 20th anniversary portal site opened as part of the project. Today is also the protagonist, Gintoki Sakata’s birthday.

The 20th anniversary portal will also handle various events, good information, and hot topics related to Gintama.

The Gintama franchise also released a 20th anniversary memorial visual, which paid homage to the frontispiece art of the manga’s first chapter, “Nobody with Natural Wavy Hair Can Be That Bad.”

Furthermore, Gintama SOUND ULTRA SOUL! 24, the first live concert featuring the anime’s soundtrack music, will take place at Zepp DiverCity, Tokyo.

Audio Highs will organize a special band, Gintama ULTRA BAND Meets Audio Highs, for this event.

This special concert will celebrate Gintama’s 20th anniversary year with guests and a powerful live performance.

Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki-hen will screen the extra footage from the TV anime’s Throny Arc at theaters in Japan for a limited period of three weeks starting November 10, 2023.
