Gachiakuta Excites Anime Fans with Its First Trailer. Staff and Cast Listed.

On March 13, 2025, Gachiakuta finally releases its first PV, showcasing the protagonist Rudo’s struggles and how he becomes a Cleaner and thus our first listen to the characters’ voices.

It is also confirmed that the anime will premiere on July 2025.

The anime drawing directly from Urana’s artstyle can be seen in the frame to manga panel comparisons.

In a tweet, manga author Kei Urana thanked Studio Bones and the character designer and chief animation director, Satoshi Ishino, for realizing the complex designs for the anime.

In another tweet, she also expressed delight in seeing one of her favorites, Taku Iwasaki (responsible for the score in Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures Part 2: Battle Tendency), as the composer.

In the official website, Iwasaki comments on the score:

“It’s like a pile of junk and rubbish that’s been pressed together and solidified. I only made dirty, noisy and loud music. I hope you enjoy the wild world of Gachiakuta.”

There will be more information on the Gachiakuta anime during AnimeJapan 2025 that will be held on March 22, potentially more cast reveals and an episode count.

Studio Bones animated Soul Eater, the adaptation of the manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, whom Urana once worked under as a key assistant.

This will be Fumihiko Suganuma’s debut as a series director, having been a unit director for Takehiko Inoue’s Slam Dunk movie and was episode director for Shirobako and Uma Musume Pretty Derby.

Taku Iwasaki is an acclaimed composer due to his work in many anime, most famously Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures Part 2: Battle Tendency, with his style leaning towards

Satoshi Ishino has done character design for multiple anime such as Date a Live and Godzilla Singular Point, and has key animated in multiple series, including Death Note and Yu Yu Hakusho.

About Gachiakuta

Gachiakuta is a manga written and illustrated by Kei Urana for Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, beginning in February 16, 2022.

As of writing, the series has produced 14 volumes and a total of 127 chapters.

Gachiakuta is set in a world divided into two layers: a rich upper world and the surface full of garbage. After being accused of his foster father’s murder, Rudo becomes a Cleaner that fights against the monsters made from the upper world’s garbage that falls into the Abyss.
