Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, Detective Conan Top Oricon’s List Of Best Selling Manga In April 2024

Kanehito Yamada’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen and Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan ranked #1 , #2 and #3, respectively, in Oricon’s top 20 list of the highest-selling manga series for April 2024. Since Oricon is the biggest data collector for manga in Japan, it’s safe to say that these manga ranked highly in overall Japan from April 4-28.
Frieren is pretty popular in Japan right now so much so that it has become a household name. And the release of Volume 13 on April 17 pushed their sales even further beyond, despite the anime ending at the end of March!
Similarly, Jujutsu Kaisen ranked #2 on the list due to the sales figures of volume 26, which hit Japanese bookstores on April 4.
On the other hand, Detective Conan manga sales shot up after the success of its new movie “The Million Dollar Pentagram”, which broke weekend box office revenue for the year, crossing 12 billion yen in just 25 days!

About Jujutsu Kaisen:
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami.
It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine, Weekly Shōnen Jump, since March 2018, with its chapters collected and published in 26 tankōbon volumes as of April 2024.
Studio MAPPA brought the world of JJK into anime by airing 24 episodes of season 1 from October 2020 to March 2021 and a second season that premiered in July 2023. A sequel covering the “Culling Game” arc has been announced.

Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life.
