Former Jujutsu Kaisen Director Takes On Undead Unluck Anime Special
Undead Unluck’s special episode will be helmed by Jujutsu Kaisen’s Sunghoo Park and E&H Productions instead of Fire Force’s Yuki Yase David Production
On July 31, 2025, Undead Unluck Winter Arc, the anime special
However, instead of David Production, E&H Productions (Ninja Kamui and Monsters 103) will be handling production while David Production will cooperate with the process.
As such, in place of Yuki Yase (Fire Force Season 1), E&H Productions founder, Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0) will be directing the anime special, as well as act as chief storyboard artist, and producer for the special.
The special adapts the Winter Arc, which is Chapters 53 to 56 of the manga.
About Undead Unluck
Undead Unluck is a manga written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump that began on January 20, 2020 and ended on January 27, 2025.
With 27 volumes circulated, Undead Unluck was able to sell 1.8 million copies by September 2022.
Undead Unluck is set in a world where God created rules for reality yet is inhabited by humans called “Negators” that defy those rules.
The series name is taken from the main characters, Andy the Undead who has the ability to constantly regenerate, and Fuuka the Unluck, who attracts bad luck for those around her.
Together, the pair set on a quest to be rid of their abilities.
