Fist of the North Star’s Tetsuo Hara Draws Furiosa Will Promote Next Mad Max Saga

Fist of the Northstar

One of those manga and anime that one doesn’t quickly forget is Tetsuo Hara’s groundbreaking Fist of the North Star.

The series has drawn readers from all around the world with its extreme brutality and stories of love, whether they be between a man and a woman or between a master and a pupil.

However, we must not overlook the fact that the Mad Max film series served as one of the manga’s influences.

And now, in a cosmic alignment, a new Furiosa artwork has been created by combining the two works: The manga creator himself created Furiosa, the Mad Max Saga heroine.

The artwork is a fantastic gekiga picture that perfectly captures Furiosa’s fighting attitude and the post-apocalyptic environment she lives in. Bold lines and shadows reminiscent of Hara’s most recent manga series, Ikusa No Ko, are also seen in the piece.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will open in theaters on May 24 in the United States and on May 31 in Japan.
