Dragon Ball Secret Battle Hour Is Back For 2024! Vote To Decide The Strongest Dragon Ball Character In This Ultimate Showdown!
Manga-exclusive characters like Moro and Granolah are also included this year!
The official Dragon Ball website announced on Jan 8, 2024, that the Secret Battle Hour event from last year is back again and will be held on X (Twitter)! This event will allow fans all around the world to vote for who they think is the strongest character in Dragon Ball!
How it works is that the official Dragon Ball Twitter accounts (both the Japanese and English ones) (@DB_official_jp) and (@DB_official_en) will post matchups chosen at random starting from Jan 22 at 9 a.m. (JST) every day, and users will have to vote for the character they think is stronger by liking or reposting each of the matchup posts.
Yes, this is basically an online Budokai Tenkaichi, and fans get to decide who is the winner!
Last year, in 2023, Gohan won against all odds amongst 16 characters to become the strongest Dragon Ball character. This year, in 2024, 20 characters will be included in the matchup, with 19th and 20th ones being decided by votes from fans!
Since the images picked for the characters are from the manga, it’s safe to assume that the powerscaling in this Secret Battle Hour should ideally be judged while keeping only manga feats in mind. What’s more, manga-exclusive characters like Moro and Granolah are also included this year!

To decide which two mysterious characters to add to the list, fans can click here and scroll down to choose their favorite character from a pre-determined list. These additional characters include:
- Krillin
- Android 17
- Broly
- Anilaza
- Gas
- Jaco
- Cabba
- Frost
Fans can vote for only one character once a day, and the two characters who receive the most votes will earn the right to join the tournament. The voting period begins from Jan 8 at 5 p.m. and ends on Jan 12 at 11:59 p.m. (JST).
The Secret Battle Hour tournament begins on January 22 and ends on January 29. The tournament schedule is given as follows (timing in JST):

Synopsis of the Dragon Ball anime:
Goku Son is a young boy who lives in the woods all alone—that is, until a girl named Bulma runs into him in her search for a set of magical objects called the “Dragon Balls.”
Since the artefacts are said to grant one wish to whoever collects all seven, Bulma hopes to gather them and wish for a perfect boyfriend.
Goku happens to be in possession of a dragon ball, but unfortunately for Bulma, he refuses to part ways with it, so she makes him a deal: he can tag along on her journey if he lets her borrow the dragon ball’s power.
With that, the two set off on the journey of a lifetime.
