Doraemon Plus Manga Receives A New Volume After 9 Years!

This publication marks the 50th anniversary of Tentōmushi Comics & the 90th birthday of the late Doraemon co-creator Fujiko F. Fujio.

The 7th Volume of Fujiko Fujio’s “Doraemon Plus” manga will hit the bookshelves of Japan’s convivence stores on December 1, 2023. This is a monumental occasion for the manga, as it’s releasing a volume after 9 years!

According to the details inscribed behind the volume, Doraemon Plus is a series of stories that were not included in the original 45 volumes of Tentomushi Comics’ “Doraemon”. The 6th volume shipped in 2014, which makes the 7th volume the first release in 9 years. The 6th volume contained 21 stories, while the upcoming 7th volume will contain 20 stories.

This publication on December 1 marks the 50th anniversary of Tentōmushi Comics as well as the 90th anniversary of the late Doraemon co-creator Fujiko F. Fujio’s birth.

The book also features a wealth of fascinating characters, such as Uncle Munashi, who comes to Nobita to borrow New Year’s money, Honyama, who loves to read, and Suneo’s younger brother Sunezugu.

Doraemon is a manga co-created by Fujiko Fujio A and Fujiko F. Fujio. The manga was first serialized in December 1969, with its 1,345 individual chapters compiled into 45 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a boy named Nobita Nobi.

The manga received three anime adaptations, airing in 1973, 1979, and 2005, and over 40 anime film adaptations.
