Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie First Trailer Confirms its Major Battles
The first proper teaser of the new Demon Slayer movie confirms what fights will be shown and how much can be expanded on.

On May 9, 2025, Demon Slayer released the first teaser for the Infinity Castle movie to Japanese audiences.
The trailer takes place within the Infinity Castle, which involves a lot of constant 3D background work from ufotable’s capable.
Here, we first see Tanjiro being separated from Giyuu, followed by a montage of the Nichirin blades of the different Hashira.
After one scene where he faces a door, Zenitsu rushes forward with brave determination.
Sanemi is motionless, representing his grief over the Master, Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s death.
We also see Shinobu enter a certain room.
We also see Obanai landing on his feet to go help Mitsuri, who’s being rushed by a mob of demons.
While these scenes may not last long, the addition of these scenes and Sanemi being motionless suggest an expansions on these scenes, particularly adding more fights for the other Hashira before they face their final opponents.
Here, we do not see any of the Upper Moon demons that the characters will face but the trailer shows manga readers these hints towards what these battles are.
What to Expect
Shinobu Kocho vs Doma (Upper Rank Two Moon)
Chapters adapted: Chapter 140: “The Final Battle Begins” to Chapter 143: “Wrath” (pages 1-17) (4 chapters)
It is a surprise to see that the Upper Moon Rank Two, the second strongest of the Demon King Muzan’s elites, will have the very first fight of the final arc yet it is meant to prove something.
He will face against Shinobu Kocho and her adopted sister Kanae, the former having a personal history with Doma that will make this fight reveal the hidden anger Tanjiro saw in Shinobu in Episode 24: “Rehabilitation Training”.
Doma is the cult leader of Eternal Paradise Faith, who uses the cult to acquire his meals, particularly young women.
Zenitsu Agatsuma vs Kaigaku (Upper Rank Six Moon, Replacement of Gyutaro and Daki)
Chapters adapted: Chapter 143: “Wrath” (pages 17-19) to Chapter 146: “Pride” (pages 1-12) (3 chapters)
Zenitsu’s opponent will be Kaigaku, who is one of only two Demons capable of using a Breathing Style, the only Upper Moon yet to be shown in the anime, and the last Upper Moon to be introduced outside of his flashback in Episode 17: “You Must Master a Single Thing” in Season 1.
Kaigaku was the replacement for Gyutaro and Dabi as Upper Moon Six and a former acquaintance of Zenitsu when they trained with the former Thunder Hashira Jigoro Kuwajima, who committed seppuku due to Kaigaku choosing to surrender to Kokushibo and join the Twelve Kizuki.
In Japanese, he was originally voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya while in English, he was dubbed by Alejandro Saab, so we will be hearing their voices for this character.
During this fight, we will see a vendetta form between the two former students, with Zenitsu seeking retribution for Kaigaku’s betrayal.
Tanjiro Kamado vs Akaza (Upper Rank Three Moon)
Chapters adapted: Chapter 146: “Pride” (pages 13-19)Â to Chapter 157: “Returning Spirit” (11 chapters)
A rematch since the Infinity Train movie, Tanjiro vs Akaza has been anticipated for nearly 5 years.
Akaza was Upper Moon Three and he was the first Upper Moon Tanjiro fought, reminding him of the vast chasm of power between them, especially just as Tanjiro barely managed to defeat a Lower Moon like Enmu.
Akaza would especially show his strength by killing Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira and the first Hashira slain in the series.
As the longest of the three main fights, this would likely be placed as the climax and there is a lot to look forward to, from the collaboration between Giyu Tomioka the Water Hashira and Tanjiro, his fellow Water Breathing Style user, to Akaza’s tragic backstory that is sure to move audiences.
This confirms that the first Infinity Castle movie will adapt 18 chapters of content, from the end of Volume 15 to the middle of Volume 18.
Demon Slayer episodes adapt 3 chapters per episode, meaning that the first two battles already cover a full 22-minute episode of content each while the Akaza battle can last 3 episodes.
The first movie, much like the Infinity Train movie, will likely have 6 episodes worth of content lasting a total of 120 minutes or 2 hours.
For the remainder of the trilogy, that is the last two movies, there are only 47 chapters left to adapt, with the battles against Nakime, the new Upper Rank Four Moon, Kokushibo, the Upper Rank One Moon and, of course, the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji himself.
