Cowboy Bebop Anime Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary With New Limited-Edition Watch
Only 26 watches will be made, representing each episode of the anime.
On Saturday, it was announced that Shinichiro Watanabe’s Cowboy Bebop is collaborating with Kentex to release a limited-edition watch inspired by Spike Spiegel.
Only 26 watches will be made, representing each episode of the anime.
The watch face mimics the colors of Spike’s iconic outfit, with a tiny Swordfish II on the second hand.
In addition to luminous hands and numbers, the watch also has a small calendar between the 4 and the 5.
On the 25th of every month, the date number changes to Spike’s Jericho 941.
Every one of the 26 watches is unique due to engravings on the sides and back.
Each watch displays the session number and catchphrase from its corresponding episode, along with an image from that episode.
Furthermore, the watch is packaged in a collector’s box accompanied by a card featuring the episode title.
Pre-orders are now open for the watch, which is priced at 297,000 yen (tax included).
The watches are scheduled to ship in June.
Crunchyroll describes the anime as:
Spike is a hero whose cool façade hides a dark and deadly past.
The pilot Jet is a bruiser of a brute who can’t wait to collect the next bounty.
Faye Valentine is a femme fatale prone to breaking hearts and separating fools from their money.
Along for the ride are the brilliant, but weird, hacker Ed and a super-genius Welsh Corgi named Ein.
