Bungo Stray Dogs Anime To Celebrate Its 8th Anniversary With 8 Exciting Projects!

Out of the 8 projects, the first 4 have been revealed, while the rest will be updated in the future. The celebration will launch on April 7, 2024.

On Jan 7, 2016, the first episode of Bungo Stray Dogs anime, based on Kafka Asagiri’s and Sango Harukawa’s manga of the same, premiered on Japanese television and streaming platforms across the world.

8 years later, the staff members of the Bungo Stray Dogs anime committee have planned something special for the occasion. They’re in the process of putting together 8 projects titled “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” which will launch on April 7, 2024.

Out of the 8 projects, the first 4 projects have been revealed, while the rest will be updated in the future. Take a look at the 4 projects that are lined up for fans around the world!

1. “Eighth Anniversary Commemorative Memoirs with Animate International” (April 7, 2024 – April 6, 2025)

  • Throughout the anniversary period, physical and online Animate stores worldwide will be reprinting previous specially drawn seasonal illustrations to sell as commemorative memorial goods. These illustrations will include seasonal drawings for Halloween and New Year’s, as well as several illustrations, including the first illustration of the “Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs” series, now a customary April Fool’s project.

2. “RED TOKYO TOWER Collaboration” (April 19 – May 26, 2024) – featuring the Sky Casino

3. “Tobu Zoo Collaboration (July 13, 2024 onwards)

4. “First Avenue Tokyo Station B1 Event Space Ichiban Plaza & Hotel New Otani Collaboration” (August 9, 2024 onwards)—featuring a pop-up store with a wide selection of limited and pre-sales merchandise, fun projects, as well as hotel stays in concept rooms.

About Bungo Stray Dogs:

Bungo Stray Dogs is a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, which has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s seinen manga magazine Young Ace since 2012.

In 2016, Bones developed an anime television series adaption that was broadcasted in two parts. The first season was televised from April to June 2016, while the second season was broadcast from October to December 2016. Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, an anime film, was released in March 2018.

The broadcast of a third season took place from April to June 2019. The broadcast of a fourth season took place from January to March 2023. From July to September 2023, a fifth season was broadcast.

After the conclusion of the fifth season, the official Twitter account of the anime expressed gratitude to fans for their ongoing support and closed by declaring that the anime is still ongoing.

Crunchyroll describes the overall plot of Bungo Stray Dogs as follows:

Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the “Armed Detective Agency” said to solve incidents that even the military and police won’t touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that’s been terrorizing the population…
