Blue Lock -Episode Nagi- Anime Film Crossed 400 Million Yen In Just 3 Days!

Matan Web, a reputable Japanese news blogger, had reported on April 22, 2024, that Blue Lock -Episode Nagi- theatrical anime film bagged 463 million Yen ($2.99 million) in just 3 days since the film’s release in Japan on April 19.

The film got off to a good start, attracting approximately 337,000 viewers and ranked at #2 in the Japanese box office, followed by Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram.

The synopsis for Episode Nagi goes as follows:

“That’s a hassle.” That was second-year high schooler Nagi Seishiro’s favorite phrase as he lived his dull life. Until Mikage Reo, a classmate who dreamed of winning the World Cup, discovered Nagi’s hidden skill, inspiring him to play soccer and share his outstanding talent. One day, he receives an invitation to the mysterious BLUE LOCK Project. What awaits him there is an encounter with the finest strikers assembled from across the country. Nagi’s dream of becoming the best, alongside Reo, will take this prodigy to a world he’s never known.

A prodigy can only be shaped when someone discovers him….now, striker Nagi Seishiro’s incredible talent and persona will set the soccer world ablaze.

About Blue Lock:

Blue Lock is a Football manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018, with its chapters collected in 28 tankōbon volumes as of March 2024.

In October 2022 to March 2023, an anime television series adaptation created by Eight Bit was broadcasted. A forthcoming anime film adaptation, derived from the Episode Nagi manga, is scheduled to make its debut in April 2024. The confirmation of a second season has been made as well.
