Blue Beetle Actor is Portgas D. Ace in the One Piece Live-Action!
The live-action version of Ace is here and he seems like the perfect fit, on top of his closeness with the actor for Luffy himself!
On November 6, 2025, another key member of the One Piece Season 3 cast has been unveiled and it is none than Xolo , who will play the role of Portgas D. Ace, the adopted brother of protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, played by Inaki Godoy.
Previously, the actor for Bon Clay was revealed, sparking some interesting responses.
Maridueña is most famous for playing Blue Beetle from the film “Blue Beetle” (2023) in the DC Extended Universe
It is worth nothing that Inaki Godoy, the actor for Monkey D. Luffy, and Maridueña are real-life friends and this chemistry could be translated well onscreen.
While many anticipated this reveal due to the aforementioned closeness between the actors for Ace and Luffy, some fans received the news with mixed reactions, notably not seeing the resemblance to Ace’s real father, Gol D. Roger but instead is more related to Luffy.
Although the character is expected to appear in Season 3, featured primarily in the Arabasta Arc that Season 3 will focus on, it is possible he could make a last-minute appearance at the end of Drum Island as a good tease to end off Season 2.
One Piece Live-Action has renewed for a third season, which is set to follow after Season 2 as filming has already begun for Season 3 this year.
