Akira Toriyama Praises One Piece In His Last Message To Eiichiro Oda

After hearing about Toriyama’s passing, Oda shared a heartwarming message to mourn his death.

Fandom

Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama had always been Eiichiro Oda’s inspiration for One Piece and manga in general since childhood. He was so obsessed with Dragon Ball that he kept reading it again and again in order to try imitating its art style.

Toriyama is basically like God to Oda so anything Toriyama says to Oda is like the Gospel for him.

They’ve met each other many times, where even Toriyama rode on Oda’s train in his house. In their final meeting together before Toriyama died, he said he understood why everyone’s crazy about One Piece after having read it himself.

“Oda-kun. There’s nothing else for me to say! My own child also reads One Piece really voraciously, too. So, I also read it… and I really understood why everyone was crazy about One Piece! So, just keep doing your best from now on!!”

After hearing about Toriyama’s passing, Oda shared a heartwarming message to mourn his death.
