Akatsuki no Yona Has Officially Ended With Anime Sequel Confirmed
After 16 years, Akatsuki no Yona has ended, with the anime returning from its 10-year hiatus.
On December 19, 2025, Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) concludes its story after 16 years of serialization with Chapter 276.
In honor of its ending, the series is on the cover of Issue 2/2026 of shojo magazine Hana no Yume.
Prior to this, the manga had been on hiatus since July 3, 2025 and has returned on October 3 to release its last three chapters across the remaining months.
While the manga has officially concluded, there is more Yona content to look forward to.
A Bangaihen Extra Chapter will be published on February 20, 2026
Volume 47 (Chapters 269 to 274) will be released in February 20, 2026, the same time as the extra chapter.
The volume total will be 48 as the final volume, Volume 48, will contain Chapters 275 and 276, as well as the Bangaihen Extra Chapter.
Within the ending’s release, the anime adaptation has also been announced to be return after 10 years.
Adapted by Pierrot (Naruto, Bleach, Black Clover), the anime was originally a 24-episode series that ran from October 7, 2014 to March 24, 2015, an OVA episode released on September 18, 2015, and two OVA episodes adapting the Zeno Arc released on August 19, 2016 and December 19, 2016.
The anime stopped at Chapter 47 of the manga at the start of the 7th arc, the Bandits Arc, meaning there are 229 chapters left to adapt.
