Amo Stops the Doll Wave! Gachiakuta Chapter 140 Review!
This week, Gachiakuta greets us with one of its shortest chapters or rather a part of it as the Cleaners overcome Mymo’s wave of Dolls.
We are currently in the Doll Festival Arc.
The Cleaners attend the Doll Festival in the South Ward to find the white crow that will take them to the creator of the Chokers.
Gachiakuta Chapter 140 is titled “Weakness”
This has only 8 pages and is Part 1 of the chapter.
The chapter begins where the last one left off, with the audience being controlled by Mymo to crush the Cleaners.
Mymo is the arc’s main antagonist and a former News Reporter from the Ground seeking to create a new world with himself as ruler.
Rudo Surebrec says it will be difficult to remove the Chokers from that many people but considers that taking the Microphone, Vital Instrument: Elenhos or taking down Mymo.
Watching the scene from a high point is Hell Guard Deputy Captain Goka Nijiku.
One of his men asked permission to launch an assault since their Captain, Kyouka Nijiku, ordered Mymo’s arrest but they lacked any proof to take action until Mymo exposed himself here.
With the Cleaners getting Mymo’s attention, this is their best shot at capturing the villain.
However, Goka says they will do the unglamorous work of attacking from behind to avoid harming the Dolls and swears to not fail like Zanka, their brother, did.
This is a nice way to show that, yes, the most underhanded and least “honorable” methods are actually also the most ethical choices when the direct approach leads to casualties and more suffering.
We return to the Doll wave that is about to crush them.
Enjin says that if he dodges, the people in the wave will also be crushed, making him angry at the wicked tactic Mymo employed.
Hmm, this reminds me of a recent Chainsaw Man chapter.
As the wave descends upon them, Amo Empool was able to stop them while she is carried up by Fu Orostor as she says that it is not nice to control people.
Even with Part 2, this chapter will still feel fairly short as it is mostly on anticipating action, with the first part stopping Mymo’s attack and Part 2 likely continuing with the Cleaners’ attack or even with the Hell Guard coming out to stop (or failing to stop) Mymo.
Gachiakuta Chapter 140 Part 2 will be released on June 18, 2025.
