The END of PRIME Sakamoto! Sakamoto Days Chapter 281 Spoilers!
Within the final film set of a household, Sakamoto says goodbye to his past forever as he buries Uzuki six feet under.
In the previous Sakamoto Days chapter, Sakamoto and Uzuki fight through a samurai, dinosaur, boxing, space and now home setting.
Day 281 is titled, “The Strongest Dad”
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins where we left off as Shin tells Sakamoto that they are now in a household set, which gives Sakamoto the advantage.
Sakamoto sees a closet of clothes, a TV set and a cabinet with dishes and other things.
Imagining his home life with Aoi and Hana within this wrecked film set, Sakamoto feels vulnerable, remembering his life with his family and also how the Sakamoto household was destroyed by Uzuki and X’s Organization, the bombing in Chapter 206: “Forbidden Zone”.
Because of that vulnerability, Uzuki attacks, jabbing him on the throat, then kicking him away.
Sakamoto’s wounds reopen, with Boiled noting this was gonna happen no matter how hard-boiled he is and Shishiba wondering what Sakamoto is even doing.
Sakamoto grabs Uzuki’s hand and expresses how he once viewed strength as the only way to resolve everything.
He recalls his old life as an assassin and how destroying things proved his strength like Uzuki now.
We now hear Uzuki, as Prime Sakamoto speaking, saying that this is what an assassin should be: kill the enemy, complete the mission.
This contradicts everything both Sakamoto and Uzuki have fought for.
Something some Sakamoto fans have observed is how Sakamoto’s reliance on Prime Sakamoto starting with the JAA Jail Arc shows Sakamoto in a dark place, the same spot as Kei Uzuki.
During the final arc, Uzuki’s revolution is simply mindless violence for its own sake, contradicting Rion’s vision of peace that Uzuki always wanted after a lifetime of being used as a tool by his evil adopted brother Sei Asaki.
Both of them began obsessing and relying on strength to prove their ideologies and worth when using that strength blinded them to what was important: with Sakamoto using strength to escape from his fear of losing his family and Uzuki escaping from his trauma.
Now, Sakamoto declares that as this is the identity he left behind, it is time to finally end this battle.
As they fight, Sakamoto flashes back to the times he played with Hana.
Hana played on the swivel chair in Sakamoto’s room, putting her little legs in as she spins faster, which Sakamoto does to kick Uzuki, leading to him losing his left shoe, and he slips on some LEGO blocks.
Then Sakamoto recalls teaching Hana to put the laundry away, where Hana notices that when she closes the bottom drawer, the top one opens up instead, with Aoi noting that it is because her daughter slammed it too hard.
Sakamoto lifts his leg above Uzuki and slams the upper drawer hard, so that the middle one pushes behind Uzuki.
Recalling the time he played balloon rocket with Hana, Sakamoto blows some balloons that fly all over Uzuki’s view, giving Sakamoto the cover to get behind Uzuki.
Uzuki feels his vision disorient as Sakamoto uses a clothes hanger to make Uzuki’s head spin, just as Hana demonstrated it on herself, with Sakamoto calling it the “hanger reflex”.
While Uzuki breaks the hanger in frustration, Sakamoto leaps up with a slingshot.
As Sakamoto talks about how regular life is full of fragile things and people shouldn’t exert themselves too hard, he recalls his past, how he learned to cook and do regular things step by step, putting Hana to sleep and eventually, imagining himself with his new child.
Refusing to see Uzuki, or rather, his past life, keep breaking things, Sakamoto launches a big slingshot directed at Uzuki.
Everyone (Boiled and Heisuke, Tenkyu and Natsuki Seba, Shishiba, Osaragi and Kamihate, Atari) watches, with Shin at the last bit smiling.
Here, Sakamoto says goodbye to his past as Uzuki lands hard on the whole film set.
This might really be the end of the final battle.
With how Volume 31 will shape up to be the final one, this could have two to four chapters left.
The next chapter might resolve Uzuki’s character arc and the rest will reveal Nagumo’s fate and provide an ending.
Sakamoto Days Chapter 282 will be released on November 9, 2026.
