Psyren to Release a 3-Cour Full Season

On September 9, 2026, we got a leak revealing that Psyren will be released on October 5, 2026 and will have a unique schedule of 3 cours.

The adaptation was first announced on December 12, 2025, with more details coming in throughout the year.

This also mentioned the studio Satelight and the director Katsumi Ono.

It is unknown if these are a split cour or will be consecutive.

Psyren has a total of 161 chapters across its 16 volumes.

Each cour is 12 to 13 episodes and each episode could adapt 3 weekly chapters or more, with each cour being able to adapt 5 volumes at a time.

Since Psyren has 16 volumes, there is a possibility that this will be the whole anime’s run.

About Psyren

Psyren is a manga written and illustrated by Iwashiro for Weekly Shonen Jump from December 3, 2007 to November 29, 2010, accumulating 16 volumes and a light novel.

While a proper sales figure is not found at the moment, Psyren was able to reach at least 1 million based on the sales of the first 10 days of each volume’s release.

The story follows Ageha Yoshina, a high school student, who finds a mysterious card and is chosen to compete in the Psyren games—a deadly contest set in the world of the same name. Competitors awaken psychic abilities, face the world’s violent monsters called Taboo and fulfill certain tasks, all the while Ageha and her comrades delve into the truth about Psyren.
