Jujutsu Kaisen Author Finally Reveals This Character’s Cursed Technique After 7 Years!
Yu Haibara’s technique is finally revealed by Gege Akutami for the Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade video game.
On August 30, 2026, during Juju Fest 2026, Gege Akutami provided a sketch of Yu Haibara, Nanami Kento’s happy go lucky classmate who died while fighting a Curse misjudged as a Grade 2 Curse but was actually a powerful Grade 1 threat during Gojo’s Past, which came out in 2019.
Later on, for the mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade, he also revealed the character’s technique.
Steam Cursed Technique
“A technique that constructs a steam engine within one’s own body.
Cursed energy serves the role of water, and the technique acts as fire (boiler),
dramatically enhancing physical abilities with the steam generated from the created cursed energy.
It has poor fuel efficiency and makes you prone to hunger.
Although this information was in the game, Phantom Parade, as it is from the author Gege Akutami, this is considered canon.
The technique’s weakness was hinted at based on Haibara’s gluttony and tendency to get hungry.
This brings the possibility of other techniques and abilities being revealed in this game with Gege Akutami’s input, making them canon.
First released on November 21, 2023, Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is a mobile action RPG developed by Sumzap, Inc. and published by TOHO Games, TOHO’s gaming division and thus connected to Jujutsu Kaisen’s producer.
This features various additional stories not featured in the anime, including more backstory for Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto and more.
