Tserriednich’s Parallel Future BREAKS THE HUNTER X HUNTER TIMELINE! Hunter x Hunter Chapter 418 Spoilers!
4th Prince Tserriednich, possible grandson of Isaac Netero, is about to turn his King Crimson-esque ability into the Almighty, from erasing the future to rewriting it entirely.
Editor’s note: “Shortly before Benjamin’s intrusion”
In the previous Hunter x Hunter chapter, after seemingly finishing off his evil brother 4th Prince Tserriednich, 1st Prince Benjamin prepares to kill his mother and siblings
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 418 is titled, “Assumption”.
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins before Benjamin’s arrival, as Tserriednich recaps how Parallel Future works so far.
He notes that whether he enters Zetsu and then closes his eyes or begin Zetsu with his eyes already shut, his ability activates regardless.
First, he sees ten seconds into the future but the act of seeing it does not use up time in the real world.
Then when the vision ends and Tserriednich opens his eyes, the ten seconds he sees plays out in the real world.
Tserriednich confirmed two things about Parallel Future:
- During the illusion, Tserriednich cannot change the state of anyone but himself, not even to slip stuff into their clothes or to kill them. The only one Tserriednich can change is himself.
- He can affect the state of non-living objects as long as they are not under the possession of another person and that he does not use them to harm another person or write over their bodies.
So Tserriednich tests his ability again by ordering Salkov to get water from the fridge. When he closes his eyes, he sees Salkov give him the water.
When he opens them, he grabs the water bottle himself and drinks it but Salkov still performs the action as if Tserriednich and the bottle were right in front of him.
Tserriednich realizes his ability only shows the outcome of what he does in reality, not when he tries to change anything in the future.
So when he tries throwing the bottle at Salkov, nothing changes.
This made the 4th Prince think that his ability is just at Level 1 and that he could actually make it evolve like a Digimon.
Tserriednich also remembers how Melody’s music interrupted his Zetsu and that in effect ruined the illusion of Theta killing Tserriednich.
Meaning reality was cut off the second Tserriednich stopped using Zetsu and shut down his aura.
And bro was really curious what his sidechick was gonna do to his body if he kept up the illusion.
If he could train Parallel Future to literally rewrite the future even during the illusion itself, this ain’t King Crimson anymore.
Togashi was very transparent about where he cooked the idea for Tserriednich’s Hatsu.
Just look at all the Jojo poses bro made when he made his ability.
But before he can fully test his Hatsu, Tserriednich hears the Special Martial Law declaration and he is EXCITED.
Not because of the announcement.
Oh no.
He’s happy that his Zetsu did not break for a sudden siren and he tells God to thank HIM for perfecting his Zetsu.
Imagine having such an ego that you think even God must thank you for existing.
Anyway, Tserriednich orders his men to surrender quietly but for Salkov to give him his pistol.
Salkov is the key to everything Tserriednich has planned, being the eyewitness to everything that is about to go down.
That’s where we are at the start of Chapter 417 and Tserriednich casually comments about his own death like he was watching a B-rate film.
But the funny thing is that Tserriednich wished Benjamin would give him a long, agonizing death.
The hate these brothers have for each other needs to be studied.
Tserriednich knows that he has to keep up his Zetsu to avoid breaking the illusion but also that the illusion is only limited to Room 1004.
That’s because Parallel Future only works when the Nen Beast is around but the thing cannot move so this ability has a limited range and the illusion breaks if someone notices any inconsistencies.
Plus the Nen Beast runs on Tserriednich’s aura like a battery, so he has 3 hours, 48 minutes until the illusion breaks and reality returns to normal.
Staying in Zetsu for too long is bad for his body as he is more sensitive to pain, which breaks Zetsu and thus cancels Parallel Future.
At least there is assurance as even if the illusion breaks, if the coffin reaches Nasubi, Nasubi will understand that this is part of Tserriednich’s plan to win the war and won’t sell him out.
Once his fake corpse is out, Tserriednich prepares his last will and testimony.
No funeral, no send-off, no viewing of the body whatsoever, that his wish for Kakin is to be free and without duplicity.
The will also brings up that since Tserriednich was killed by the 1st Prince, this means his body is mangled up and not suitable for general audiences.
Tserriednich comes in with his goon disguise, a hoodie, glasses and a surgical mask, looking like a plain-ass NPC but somehow, bro can still aurafarm in that fit.
Tseriednich is worried that the illusion could break if someone else comes into the room after Parallel Future is activated.
Now this scene is so funny because while Salkov reads out a heartfelt message from the late Prince of Kindness himself, Tseriednich is out here filling up his own coffin with weapons to make it look heavy enough to have a body there.
But no one even notices because they are still under the effects of Parallel Future.
Now here comes Vantine complaining about Salkov not being a human shield when Benjamin was burying his own brother in bullets.
But here’s the thing buddy.
Salkov is a Hunter on payroll, not under any obligation to roll dead for a scummy Celestial Dragon.
Plus if he did anything, Benjamin would just kill everyone else.
Even Tserriednich is annoyed by his butler’s yapping and tries to shoot him but of course, the bullets bounce back because Tserriednich is a ghost who can’t hurt anyone anymore.
Benjamin’s soldiers respect Tserriednich’s last will, making sure the coffin is not moved until 6 AM the next day, with the only person to transport the coffin being Salkov.
Now comes the hard part, leaving the room.
Tserriednich knows if his face is seen, he is cooked for sure, without any prep time to use Parallel Future.
So Tserriednich plans to use force to escape, pretending to be an unidentified thug who committed a violent crime and escaped from the room.
Theta attempts to open Tserriednich’s coffin, but Salkov stops her, telling her that it’s the prince’s dying wish and that it will be considered the “second time”, meaning Theta will meet with Tserriednich’s creepy centaur lady Guardian Spirit Beast for another skincare session.
Then Theta suddenly turns around, looking sad.
Ayo is she actually falling for the evil Prince?
Dayum, that serial killer rizz remains untouched.
But nope, it’s not. She just turned around randomly.
That actually startled Tserriednich for a second there because it felt like Theta might have developed an immunity for Parallel Future.
But bro here is turned on by the idea of Theta trying to catch him and of being ignored too.
Tserriednich and Hisoka seem to have that in common: being into baddies who ignore them casually.
The idea of Theta, a seemingly ordinary Provisional Hunter noticing Parallel Future, could be scary but also poetic.
Tserriednich’s first appearance has him skin two women and take a shower to wipe their blood.
It would be perfect if a woman killed Tserriednich for his misogyny.
Especially since Tserriednich might have exposed his soft spot for her.
Nen has turned Tserriednich into a thrill-seeking adventurer.
He may want to rule the world but what if he is going to restart Grandpa Isaac Netero’s whole story arc, just by enjoying the detours and having a ton of fun with the world of Nen.
The threat of being caught is the perfect way to evolve his ability further.
Bro’s whole training arc is a game of Among Us and Hunter x Hunter is STILL just getting started on its biggest saga yet.
