Yomi no Tsugai Sales DOUBLED After the Anime’s First Cour
With help from its anime adaptation, Yomi no Tsugai is one of the best-selling new generation manga, proving Arakawa is truly a genius in the industry.
On July 10, 2026, it was announced that Yomi no Tsugai, the latest work of Fullmetal Alchemist author Hiromu Arakawa, has reached 7.5 million copies sold worldwide after 13 volumes,
Previously on July 5, 2025, the series had a total of 4,000,000 copies in circulation from Volumes 1 to 10.
And moreso on March 12, 2025, the manga sold over 3.5 million copies.
This means that the manga has almost doubled in sales within the span of a year, signifying the anime’s part in increased sales and Bones’ overall success with Arakawa’s work just like how their adaptations of Fullmetal Alchemist popularized the manga and a similar phenomenon to Dandadan’s sales after the anime release in 2025.
This is also Arakawa’s 4th most profitable work, behind The Heroic Tale of Arslan, Silver Spoon and her most renowned work, Fullmetal Alchemist, which has also reached a major sales milestone today at 90 million copies total.
The anime is currently in its second consecutive cour.
Cour 1 adapted up to Chapter 16 of the manga, meaning Cour 2 will end at around Chapter 31, to conclude the cour-long Nishino Village Investigation Arc or may go beyond to set up the end of the first major saga of the series.
About Yomi No Tsugai
Yomi no Tsugai or Daemons of the Shadow Realm is a manga written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Silver Spoon, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan 2013 manga adaptation) for Square Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan since December 10, 2021.
As of writing, the manga has released 13 volumes and 55 monthly chapters.
Yomi no Tsugai is the story of Yuru, a hunter who finds his village massacred and having acquired the mysterious ability to control two statues.
The Tsugai in the story are a set of two daemons that characters such as Yuru control, which are comparable to Stands from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
