Berserk Releases THREE Consecutive Chapters For the First Time in 14 Years!
Berserk fans rejoice as for the first time in 14 years, there will be three consecutive Berserk chapters over the course of two months and coincidentally, just like the previous iteration, this batch will be focusing on Guts’ deeper, emotional growth.
On May 22, 2026, along with the official announcement of the release of Berserk Chapter 384 on Young Animal Issue 12, it has been confirmed that there will be two more chapters released consecutively in the coming issues.
As Young Animal releases once every two weeks, this means that Chapter 385 will be released on June 26th while Chapter 386 will be released on July 10th.
There will be six weeks of Berserk content to go around, likely to make up for the 9-month gap since Septmeber 12, 2026.
This is not the first time that Berserk’s inconsistent release schedule would break and give way to three chapter releases.
The most notable and most recent case was when the “Spring in the Distant Days”, consisting also of three chapters (329-331), were being released from June 8 to July 13, 2012 within three consecutive issues of Young Animal.
This is timely given that the previous chapter left off with Guts beginning his meditation and journey to enlightenment.
With these four chapters in total, Volume 27 is halfway done, meaning it will indeed be released by 2027.
It is also unknown if there will be more chapters beyond this June to July run, as judging from previous releases after Miura’s passing in 2021, a chapter is worth about 3 months of work at a time.
Volume 43’s afterword has suggested that the coming chapters will be some of the most difficult writing that Kouji Mori and the team at Studio Gaga have gone through.
As with most of the current content, they are based on the late author’s notes and the team is attempting to bring them to the page as faithfully as they can.
Released on October 1, 1989, Berserk currently has 42 volumes in circulation and reached 70 million copies sold as of August 7, 2025, making it one of the most popular manga of all time and has been hailed as a core influence of the modern dark fantasy genre not only in Japanese manga but also video games, television, movies, comics and other media in Japan and beyond.
