Imu D. Judas is Real and BETRAYED JOY BOY?? The Original Pirate Crew Exposed! One Piece Chapter 1181 Full Spoilers!
Imu D. Judas is real! Was Imu a member of the Joy Boy crew who betrayed him?
In the previous One Piece chapter, pressed for time, St. Nerona Imu overwhelms Zoro and Sanji with “Devil’s Haki”, Omen, and faces off against Loki.
One Piece Chapter 1181 is titled, “A God and A Devil”
This chapter has 17 pages.
Cover Page Request: “Carrot walks along the backs of panda sharks sleeping side by side in the sea while singing.”
Editor’s note: “A memory from 14 years ago…”
The chapter begins with Loki expressing his anger at Imu causing Harald’s death.
But we also got confirmation that Giants live up to 300 years.
However, while Loki holds Imu responsible, Imu says that he is the one who suffered the most from Harald’s death and blames Loki for it.
Loki covers Ragnir in a massive bolt of lightning and strikes Imu down with “Ragna Izuchi” (which is another combo word for Ragnarok and Ikazuchi, the latter meaning lightning) but Imu blocks this with an Omen
The clash between them results in a huge shockwave. We can see Bonney holding/carrying Sanji, while Lilith comes to meet them.
The shockwave also blasts through the location of Jinbei, Nami, and Franky.
Loki is shocked by the way the flames blocked his attack.
The Devil’s Fruit, the Antithesis to Nika?
We see Imu use Omen to inflate his right arm and it looks just like how Luffy inflates his arms and body, like rubber.
And this results in a form of Gigantification.
To Loki’s shock, Imu went from “a large human” to being the same size as himself, an Ancient Giant.
Not only that but Imu was able to shift the form of his morningstar weapon into a sword that resembles Yoru, Mihawk’s Blade Blade and one of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades.
Nemesis, the Divine Punishment Blade, named after the Greek goddess of retribution, daughter of Nyx, the goddess of Night
In fact, it looks too similar to be coincidence.
As explored in our early spoilers, it looks like there is some relation between Imu and Mihawk.
Both have the same eyes, their swords have names connected to each other (Nemesis, Imu’s blade, is the goddess of retribution and the daughter of the goddess of Night/Yoru)
Again, another similarity to Gear 5 as it can make stuff out of nothing like a baseball bat.
So perhaps just like Luffy’s hagoromo scarf, Imu’s Omen scarf (the black smoke with angel eyes) produces any weapon, which could be the origin behind the many weapons in Imu’s spellbook in Chapter 1150: “Domi Reversi” and it so happens we stated how Imu’s Devil’s Fruit is the antithesis to Joy Boy’s power, bending reality with dark imagination.
Maki IS Anti-Haki Confirmed
Here, Imu reveals what Omen or Maki is.
Omen “dwells in all things”
Which sounds like what Haki is.
Omen in Japanese is Maki and the “ki” there means spirit, just like for Haki.
It is his “military might” but only due to the nature of the Devil’s Fruit.
This fruit allows him to acquire Omen from humans through a trinity: Corruption, Covenant, Power
Because humans crave strength, they can easily be tempted by the Devil.
The Devil satisfies the craving for strength through (1) CORRUPTION
To be corrupted, one must submit to a (2) COVENANT.
The envy towards the strong will enable them to achieve (3) POWER.
That trinity is DOMINION, the deal of the Devil that enables him to rule the world.
Power in this context is pronounced as “chikara” but it is written with the same kanji for Maki or Omen, meaning the result of Domi Reversi, the result of Dominion, a deal with the Devil and the Devil’s Fruit
This is why Imu calls demons the greatest form of being.
Because demons possess Maki or Demonic Spirit, in contrast to all other life and their Haki, an ability only the strong gain.
The key difference seems to be that while Haki is the force of a will that conquers and has freedom, Maki comes from submission and being dominated, meaning anyone can have Maki.
Could it be the Celestial Dragons were made pathetic elites full of privilege because it makes them more likely to desire Maki?
And while Imu is the Devil who grants Maki, it feels like he himself is being dominated by his own human cravings, thereby having the most “Maki” to be the Devil to create Covenants.
Now Satan wishes to give Loki power, like he did with Harald in the past (Covenant, to make him surrender and weak) and Dorry and Brogy in the present (Corruption, twisting their egos into primitive desire).
Loki refuses, stating that Imu’s power is more like a deal with a Devil.
Then Imu makes a compelling statement.
Is there really a difference between a god and a devil?
For Imu, Gods are Power and those that gift it.
The Devils are hated and treated as the Other side, the ones who give power with a price, submission.
Yet it is the Devil who holds dominion over the One Piece world and his power is unquestioned for over a millennia.
Joy Boy’s Judas
For Imu, the world rejoices in Dominion.
Which is similar to MCU Loki’s whole angle about the lie of freedom in the first Avengers (2012) film.
And this leads him to reflect on his time with Joy Boy.
It seems like we got their whole dynamic wrong.
Because it feels like if anything, Imu actually likes Joy Boy but in a rather twisted way.
It could be comparable to Madara’s admiration for Hashirama.
Equal parts love, equal parts hate but not really spite.
Imu feared Joy Boy’s Haki more than anything and wanted him gone, yes but there could be more than just ideological opposition or hate.
And in the present, we see Imu actually make a silly face when he screams, insisting if he is right to Joy Boy.
Or perhaps he was screaming to Luffy, who was busy eating.
There was something…intimate going on.
They felt more like…crewmates or nakama than ideological enemies.
During the Egghead Arc, Vegapunk framed Joy Boy as the first pirate and the greatest enemy of the First Twenty.
But then one of the First Twenty happens to be Nerona Imu himself.
It is also no coincidence that Imu is obsessed with a fellow member of the First Twenty, Nefertari D. Lili.
What if both of them, not just Lili, were associates of Joy Boy before Joy Boy’s rebellion?
Then we see Loki assume his Nidhogg form, fir e a Thorheim blast that Imu blocks, and the nostalgia floods into Imu’s face as the chapter ends.
