Isagi vs Hugo Round 2 Begins! Blue Lock Chapter 344 Spoilers!

Understanding the mistake of “maintaining the No. 1 spot”, Isagi optimizes himself, following his Ego as a talented learner and pursuing Hugo as the genius for him to crush.

BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, we see Vivien Hugo and Julien Loki’s bond in a flashback, which motivates Loki’s goal that restores France’s lead.

Blue Lock Chapter 344 is titled, “The Rebel”

This chapter has 20 pages.

The title is kind of fitting since that is the title of the absurdist work by French-Algerian philosopher, Albert Camus.

Editor’s note: “Godspeed, the summit, explosion!! A strike that breaks the balance pierces through the battlefield of the wasteland!!”

The chapter begins where we left off as the commentator and crowd celebrate Loki’s goal.

Aiku is flabbergasted at how they can counter such speed.

Gagamaru calls Loki a glitch, a total bug, a human cheat code.

Karasu is alarmed as they already had a lead and all of a sudden, France takes it back, as if they are dealing with aliens.

Ego calls for a substitution.

In place of Reo is Otoya.

Otoya is unique because he has played with Karasu the most, having many combination patterns with him.

Ego’s intention is clear: to add a breakthrough to the offense centered around Karasu.

But this also means Ego has lost his trust in Isagi’s ability to score.

To improve their offensive power also means that Karasu is the proven go-getter.

Not just Isagi but also Rin.

Both are outsiders of the Karasu system.

But while he sees no path to victory and that he has lost his No. 1 position in the team, Isagi remains excited as ever.

By the second half, he has grasped Hugo as prey to crush and that hunger is driving him now.

Isagi understood his mistake.

Throughout his journey, he has always been facing a No. 1 to adapt and that is how he keeps evolving.

As established by Ego’s theory of evolution in Chapter 281: “The Formula of Evolution”, there is always the genius who establishes the standard and the prodigy that learns and tries to make his own in a cycle of creating new logics.

But ever since he became No. 1 in the Neo-Egoist League, Isagi’s mentality has shifted from pursuing the mate called No. 1 to maintaining that position.

He has essentially sealed his fate as prey or rather, as a predator seeing other predators and is jealously guarding his throne.

Now Isagi realizes that the No. 1 position was a mismatch for Isagi’s aptitude and fate, making Hugo’s theory 99% correct.

Hugo was important as a means for Isagi to correct himself.

However, Isagi notes that Hugo was 1% wrong and it was about one thing: his Ego.

Jinpachi Ego did say that Blue Lock players should strive for their own goals.

The match restarts.

The last 15 minutes.

Otoya acts as Karasu’s shadow clone, dribbling right past Gabin.

Before Otoya can pass, Loki stops the shot and Hugo is coming to claim the ball.

But stopping him is Isagi, who realizes that his nature is to be a rebel who devours the “No. 1”

With 15 minutes left, are we about to see the conclusion to this match?

Can Blue Lock score two more goals against France?

Editor’s note: “This is Isagi’s way of life! This heat is the proof of his rebellion…!!”

Blue Lock Chapter 345 is titled, “True End” and will be released on April 29, 2026.
