Is Chopper the FOREST GOD? One Piece Chapter 1177 Full Spoilers!

In the previous One Piece chapter, Sanji takes on Killingham while Franky acquires a new type of cola power source.

One Piece Chapter 1177 is titled, “Fury”

Chopper’s Cleanup: Domi Reversi is a Mess

The chapter starts at West Village, with Zoro and the giants attacking the Domi-Reversed Giants. 

Hajrudin uses “Gungnir,” the name of Odin’s spear.

Dorry uses “Ikoku Sovereignty,” and Stansen uses a new attack called “Giant Troma” (Giant Taiko). 

The three attacks split some Domi-Reversed giants’ bodies in half.

Zoro uses a new attack called “Santōryū: Akaoni Okomega” (Three Sword Style: Red Ogre Raging), which is similar to the “Rengoku Oni Giri” attack he used against King. 

This attack slices one of the Domi-Reversed giants’ head and body to pieces.

Cut to Chopper’s side, where they are attacked by two Domi-Reversed giants. Chopper uses “Monster Point” and slaps one of the giants. 

The attack doesn’t damage the giant at first, but suddenly a shadow emerges from the giant’s body and it flips back to normal. 

Everyone is confused about how Chopper did it.

Yes, how exactly did he do it?

It feels strange

Chopper is the THIRD GOD of One Piece?

In Chapter 1175: Nidhoggr, we learn that Loki is the second of Elbaph’s Gods, the Purple Lightning Dragon Nidhoggr, who used to be in the possession of an Elbaph War God.

With Luffy already confirmed as a central god of Elbaph, the Sun God Nika, and Loki as the Destroyer God, we have 2 out of 4 of the Gods of One Piece revealed during Noland’s flashback in the Skypiea Arc.

Some would assume Loki would be the God of the Earth but its a strange label to attach to one whose element is more tied to lightning and is most likely the Dragon atop Treasure Tree Adam.

However, it could also be that Loki’s power is associated with the “God of the Earth” because

We also theorized Dragon could be the final God of One Piece revealed, the Rain God or the Sea God.

The Sun God Nika who laughs and liberates, the Earth God that summoned the Hellfire Serpent of destruction and the Forest God that tamed Demons.

So by taming Domi Reversi Demons, is Chopper the Forest God?

Now there are hints leading to such an idea.

Obviously, the prominent theme behind Chopper was that he was a “Monster”.

First in his introduction on Drum Island it was the discrimination by other deer due to his natural blue nose, then his becoming humanoid via the Hito Hito no Mi, and eventually fear from humans who saw his strange form as being neither a natural deer nor a natural human.

Later on, this evolved during Enies Lobby when he first awakened the Monster Point.

And it so happens that Chopper used Monster Point to fight the Domi Reversi Giants and Chopper is larger than an average Giant and almost as large as a Domi Reversi Giant in his current Monster Point.

Then there is the kicker: the Hito Hito no Mi.

Although treated as ordinary, there is something unusual about it.

Mainly that it is compatible with a specific drug, the Rumble Ball, that mutates Chopper into various shapes of his humanoid form, enhancing specific parts (Arm, Horn, Brain, Guard, Jumping Points), then later his strength, durability and size via Kung Fu and Monster Points.

And given that his current Monster Point is based on a better version of Caesar Clown’s Gigantification process, which ties into the unique environment that makes Elbaph’s fauna, flora and Giants bigger than normal, it is possible that Chopper’s Devil Fruit might have some connections to Elbaph as well.

In a way, Sengoku’s Mythical Zoan, the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Daibutsu, is a precedent for the Nika Fruit.

Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi being the Nika Fruit Zoan is also a precedent for a “true form” of the Devil Fruit being locked behind an Awakening.

If Luffy’s Fruit is a Hito Hito no Mi of a god, perhaps Dragon’s Fruit is of the same type, that of a Rain God that will be revealed in the upcoming Final War.

Furthermore, if Chopper is naturally able to reverse Domi Reversi with Monster Point, without using Conqueror’s Haki, killing the Demon, or the Mythical Zoan power, then it means that Chopper’s Devil Fruit is far from ordinary.

The Forest God “tamed” Demons and that is exactly what happened here.

If Chopper can tame literal Domi Reversi Demons, how much more…other types of Demons.

As we discussed in another post, we bring up the idea that Imu’s Covenants have something to do with the Devil Fruit power system.

Perhaps Imu has command over the ability to produce Devil Fruits in some way.

Or that Chopper is the actual God that creates Devil Fruits or is part of that process.

On a side note, it is funny that it was announced that Chopper would be the mascot for Doctors Without Borders and Oda drew an illustration this week, around the release of this chapter.

Chopper curing a Demon disease fits in to that coincidence even though the announcement was publicly made only this week while Oda likely drafted this weeks ahead.

The Buggy Method: A Clever Workaround Without Conqueror’s Haki

Cut to Sanji’s side. 

With Zeus freed from the Lindworm MMA, Nami feeds Zeus with some “black balls,” while the boys take Killingham’s severed head, which is seriously injured from Sanji’s earlier attack.

That attack gave Sanji, Franky, and Jinbe the opening to separate Killingham’s head, body, and legs, preventing him from fully regenerating.

Essentially, the Buggy method.

Sanji is surprised that they easily took down the Holy Knights of Mary Geoise but Franky says that as the crew of one of the Four Emperors, they have become just that strong.

Jinbe warns them that there is still one member that is uninjured.

Is Jinbe talking about Gunko or Sommers, who Luffy took out in Chapter 1175.

Now the question though is if this means we have now entered the actual final battle.

Sommers and Killingham are out of the picture rather quickly.

Maybe we will see them back in action, with Killingham showing an Awakened ability beyond his Nightmares and Sommers perhaps going all out on Robin.

Can Usopp Still be the Elbaph MC after this?

Usopp condemns Imu’s cowardice using tricks like taking children hostage, saying that he is more angry than frightened by the godlike foe, which results in Imu smacking Usopp around several times.

We covered our thoughts on this in the early spoilers but some have commented that this is the Usopp way.

The fact that “God Usopp” of Dressrosa came about because he fumbled even in that arc shows that Usopp could still rise again like a phoenix and be a victorious hero in the end.

It may not be Imu but possibly against Killingham, a sadist who tormented the children of Elbaph with Nightmares.

Usopp shoots a “Skull Bombgrass,” but Imu-Gunko teleports in front of him, so the explosion covers them all instead.

Nami is Still the Strongest Straw Hat

On Luffy’s side, Nami is scolding Luffy and Loki for causing more damage in the effort to save Elbaph.

Both of them and the squirrel Ragnir tremble with fear.

Ragnir tries to comfort Luffy by putting its hand on Luffy’s back.

What a meme.

But Luffy turns around and starts shouting angrily at Loki, causing Loki to fire a huge bolt of lightning but this does nothing since he is made of rubber.

In the epic final double-page spread of the chapter, Luffy, Loki, and Ragnir arrive at the place of the explosion and face Imu/Gunko. Luffy is shocked to see Usopp and Brook injured and unconscious on the ground.

The chapter ends with Luffy very angry and glaring at Imu/Gunko…

Imu declares that their battle will divide the world.
