Shidou, Barou and Kunigami Will Change Blue Lock’s Fate. Blue Lock Chapter 339 Spoilers!

How will the three newcomers change Blue Lock’s fate? And will the second half be even more brutal with Hugo’s eye awakening

BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Hugo lands France’s 2nd goal and Shidou and Barou come in for the second half.

Blue Lock Chapter 339 is titled, “Desperate Adversity”

Editor’s note: “U-20 World Cup Match 3: Japan vs. France : First Half Over.”

“Japan has felt the true strength of the U-20 World Cup title favorites. To determine their tactics for the second half, they exchange opinions”

The chapter begins with Blue Lock in their locker room as Aiku and the others express how tough France is, being the number one team.

Reo wonders how they can adjust to the one-point difference between them.

Furthermore, Reo points out that building Blue Lock around Isagi has failed them against France but Bachira believes it can still work.

From behind, Ego tells Karasu to keep quiet, asking if he is trying to kill Blue Lock

While giving him credit for his quick-witted change in play, Ego explains that abandoning the pursuit of one’s own goal for aptitude is a problem as having the right aptitude for the right job just results in a normal contest of ability.

France built their team around that using the same tactic will not work.

The whole point of Blue Lock is go against the theory of aptitude, to give everyone a shot at being the world’s best striker, to live for that one singular chance and give it everything is the defintion of an Egoist.

Karasu points out that the way they have done things has not been working out.

Which Ego agrees with, which is why he chooses to pull out all tactics centering on Isagi.

As Ego is about to announce the new formation for the second half, we cut to France.

We meet France’s coach, Rodin, stating that this U-20 team is the strongest generation, chosen by God, that only appears once every 100 years, the Les Bleus (national team of France) of the new era.

After this motivation speech, Loki approaches Charles and tells him to stay in his designated warm-up spot so that once they are done, the Earth will be grieving.

Charles admires Loki’s greed.

Hugo comes between them and tells Loki not to worry and that the match will be a wild one since Blue Lock has chosen that kind of fate.

We return to Blue Lock as we see three member changes:

Shidou, Barou and Kunigami will take over for Bachira, Niko and Chigiri.

Now Blue Lock follows a formation committed to destructive power instead of relying on Yoichi Isagi.

Seeing Hugo, a being with unparalleled dreams, ego and performance, makes Isagi feel excited from the desperate adversity.

With Isagi’s ego calling out, we see the chapter end with the beginning of the second half.

And Hugo awakening his Meta Vision.

Editor’s note: “The more he’s backed into a corner, the more Isagi Yoichi’s (Egoist’s) blood boils! His glittering fighting spirit clashes with destiny!!”

Blue Lock Chapter 340 is titled, “No Guard” and will be released on March 18, 2026.
