Kinji Hakari is Finally Here!! What to Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 5!
From Panda’s tragic loss to Yuji’s meeting with the King of Gambling Hakari, we are in for a wonderful time this week.
In the previous Jujutsu Kaisen episode, we witnessed a short film in the form of the Zenin Clan Massacre as Maki wipes out her whole clan after her twin sister, Mai, sacrifices herself to awaken Maki’s full Heavenly Restriction.
On January 27, 2026, we receive more information on the next episode.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 5 is titled, “Fever”.
Chapters Adapted
This episode will adapt Chapter 147: “Even Pandas”, Chapter 153: “Underground Fight Club”, Chapter 154: “Sneaking In” (pages 1-5), and Chapter 155: “Fever” (pages 1-14), where the episode title is from.
This is a total of nearly 2.5 chapters and 57 pages, a rather slow-paced episode compared to the previous one and it will move all the action to the next episode, meaning this one works more as a setup.
Content
This will adapt two different bits of content: Masamichi Yaga’s assassination and Yuji, Megumi and Panda joining the Underground Fight Club to see Kinji Hakari, a third year student who has since left Jujutsu High, to gain more manpower for the Culling Game.
Because of this, there is some potential for anime-original scenes to link Panda’s grief over Yaga with joining the Underground Fight Club with Yuji to convince Hakari to join them.
Panda’s fight with Yuji in the Fight Club is extended somewhat.
Hakari’s anime colors have provoked some discourse online, which also reminded the fandom about a statement from the author Gege Akutami himself about how he is partially colorblind, which explains why even the main character, Yuji Itadori, has different hair colors in some illustrations.
However, this episode will skip Megumi and Panda’s encounter with Kirara, moving from page 5 of 154 to page 1 of Chapter 155.
Chapter 155’s part has some pretty good character acting all throughout.
The episode will end in this part of the main trailer, showing Yuji and Hakari butting heads at page 14 of Chapter 155.

This episode once again confirms that the series director, Gosso, will be storyboarding the entire first cour.
Ando has directed multiple series, such as “Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse” (2012) and “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” Season 1 (2020).
Based on the number of key animators, the action will be shifted to the next episode.
Obrian Bennie returns from the previous episode to do another bit of key animation, having done so for Maki vs Naoya’s hand-to-hand combat.
Duong was responsible for animating part of the opening, Aizo, which shows the Kukuru Unit preparing to attack Maki, which happens before the Hei jump in, as well as the end of the opening movie, Iris Out, for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc
Toshiyuki Satou previously animated for Season 1 and Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, responsible for the cut from Episode 13: “Tomorrow” for Yuji and Nanami vs Mahito, where Mahito was transfiguring himself after his bleeding (the special effects for the blood were courtesy of episode director Hironori Tanaka), and for Season 2, the Yuji’s car throw against Jiro Awasaka in Episode 35: “Summon”.
Satou has had quite a long history in anime in general, having animated for My Hero Academia Season 7 (Dabi vs Todoroki Family and Shigaraki vs Mirko), Frieren, Chainsaw Man Season 1 (the Himeno barf scene), and Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc (the Reze head throw).
This means that while there will be fewer key animators, they are some of the industry’s best ones.
Next Episode
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 6 is titled, “Cog” and will be released on February 5, 2026.
This will conclude the Perfect Preparation Arc and will likely cover the rest of Chapters 154 and 155, Chapter 156: “Twinkling Stars”, Chapter 157: “Cog”, where the title is from, and Chapter 158: “Judgment” for a total of 4 chapters and 76 pages, with plenty of focus on action.
The next episode will serve as the introduction of the month-long Sorcerer genius and pretty damn good lawyer, Hir0mu Higuruma (voiced by ).
This episode will also reveal who will voice Kashimo Hakari, who is introduced by the end of Chapter 158.
