Yuka and Tsurugi’s Deadbeat Dad Mystery! Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 1 Extras

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 1 will be released on January 5, 2026 but we already have all the extra pages from the volume.

Back Illustration

Like the original series, every back illustration features a prominent location.

For Volume 1 of Modulo, we have the stone bridge where Cross and Yuka made their promise to break the “wheel of destiny” between humans and Rumelians together in Chapter 7: “The Robbed”.

Okkotsu Family Chart

We have a proper timeline of events now and the names of Yuka and Tsurugi’s parents.

Yuta was 79 years old when he died and Maki passed away two years earlier  at 77.

We learn that Yuta (30) and Maki (29) had a son in 2031 named Iori, who married a woman named Mifuyu.

In 2069, Iori was 38 while Mifuyu was 31 when Tsurugi was born but at aged 39 in 2070, while Mifuyu gave birth to their youngest, Yuka, Iori disappeared.

While Yuta and Maki had a seemingly good relationship with their son for over 39 years, something must have happened to cause him to leave Yuka.

Was it related to Sorcerer Clan politics as Yuta’s heir or was it something related to Cursed Spirits?

Perhaps we will only stop here as the story is focused on the conflict with the Simurian refugees.

One should also ask if Mifuyu is the woman in Chapter 1 that forced Yuka to give the ring to Tsurugi.

Considering that Mifuyu is only an in-law and maybe not even from a Sorcerer Clan, she would abide by the patriarchy of her traditional setting, obeying the family that is keeping her.

Colored Page: Marmalade Boy

We now have a colored image of the pinhead-like shikigami holding a large spool of thread summoned by the Cursed Technique of Maseru Takeda (the old Curse User) called Marmalade Boy, first shown in Chapter 4: “The Boy Who Kept Repeating”.

This shikigami allows him to change the appearance of anything by sewing human skin onto it.

This can be used to change Masaki’s appearance, or create a decoy of himself by packing the shikigami’s body inside his own skin.

Yuka and Tsurugi Art

We have new art of the Okkotsu siblings as kids, with Tsurugi on Yuka’s back, which causes her to fall down.

It is like they are attempting their Volume 1 pose but fail.

Extra Story: Maru Tries Coffee

Maru tries out coffee for the first time in a coffee shop.

But while he smiles at the barista, Maru remarks that the drink tastes like muddy water and wonders if the people in the cafe are just making fun of him.

Pretty much the opposite response the Turks had when they got coffee as they became big fans of the stuff.

Tsurugi Profile

Full name: Tsurugi Okkotsu

Age : 17

Second year Kyoto High student

Because he was a grandma’s boy, there were fears he would grow up speaking in a strange manner (like a series of proverbs or maxims), but those fears were quickly unfounded.

He has a go to comedy routine imitating muscle training video streamers. While it is a huge hit with his male friends, he refuses to do it in front of girls (including Yuka), as he want to keep his cool image

Even Tsurugi has a comedic side that he only shows off to the boys, which is why he once got along well with Maru, such as in Chapter 11: “Cultural Exchange”, where they were goofing off finding the one-legged octopus.

Yuka’s Profile

Full name: Yuka Okkotsu

Age : 16

First year Kyoto High student

Since she was a young child, she was skilled at using an earpick to fish out small change from her mother’s piggy bank (can’t be opened). In the process of teaching this “technique” to Tsurugi, he ended up getting caught by their mother. Yuka herself maintained a poker face and insisted she knew nothing about it.

It seems Yuka was the little troublemaker but Tsurugi was better at hiding it.

Usami’s Profile

Full Name: Kou Usami

Age : 32

First grade sorcerer

Sorcerer and government official

Handles all the work that was previously handled by the Three Clans (especially the Kamo Clan)

Lately he feels like he wants to own a big dog

Serious -> white hair from young age

There is no confirmation of whether or not he has any relations to the Inumaki clan but it seems like he has some judging from his role as someone who handled the work of the Three Great Families, especially the Kamo Clan.

Mino Profile

Full Name: Kazuya Mino

Age : 27

Assistant manager

Active “window” since middle school.

Decided to improve his strengths as a “Window” and figured if he studied hard, he could land a decent job. Before he knew it, he became Usami’s subordinate, plunging into a somewhat thrilling life.

His recent worry is that he cannot get along with people of his own age (Fine with those older or younger than him).

Note: “Window” here means someone who’s not a sorcerer but a Jujutsu High affiliate who can see curses. So they give info and stuff but don’t fight or assist

Yuji Iwasaki is the artist of the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel and his avatar is of a man in a business suit looking at giant Jujutsu Kaisen volumes, with particular focus on the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 volume cover, which is emitting a cursed aura.

Gege Akutami New Avatar and Comment

“Since there’s two of us this time, it’s incredibly reassuring!”

The original author and the sequel writer, Gege Akutami’s new avatar takes the form of a blue one-eyed cat.

His original avatar was the one-eyed cat but without color and fuzzier than the current one.

Akutami’s comment is suggestive of how much he has improved with the workload on his part being decreased so he can focus on the storytelling.
