Will Loki Activate the One Piece Rumbling? Rocks D. Xebec’s Plan Explained

You heard it right. One Piece could have its own version of Attack on Titan’s apocalyptic Rumbling and it will play a role during the Elbaph Arc and decide Imu’s defeat and final fate.

ONE PIECE X Attack on Titan

One Piece Chapter 1166 reveals so much about the outcome of the God Valley and we see Loki mourning the loss of his idol, Rocks D. Xebec.

During what appears to be Loki’s final encounter with Rocks D. Xebec, Xebec tells Loki, who believes Xebec is Nika the Destroyer, that he came to this world not to destroy but to rule it.

However, he does reveal one detail, as he says below:

Listen up, Loki!! Somewhere out there, the “Galera” are slumberin’. They’re an outrageous band of ravagers. And the only one who put them back to play is your pops!!! I’m gonna continue to rally all the rogues in the world!! If your dad and I work together, who on earth could possibly stop us?!”

This was first brought up in Rocks’ introduction chapter, Chapter 1154: “Can’t Even Die”, where we covered how a Devil Fruit could be responsible for freezing this hidden army of Giant shipwrights and fierce warriors.

They were the original form of the human counterpart on Water 7, Galley-La, also shipwrights who kept the blueprints of the Ancient Weapon Pluton.

This ominously resembles Attack on Titan’s endgame, the Rumbling, where millions of 60ft Colossal Titans that form the giant Walls would walk and trample upon every living thing and civilization, resulting in global genocide, stopping at 80% of the human population.

But what does this apocalyptic threat have to do with Rocks’ plans for conquest?

Rocks’ Plan

In Chapter 1156: “Idols”, Rocks reveals his full plan to the Rocks Pirates.

He wants two Devil Fruits: one very likely being the Yami Yami no Mi, which Blackbeard acquired after 30 years on Whitebeard’s crew, and the other is on Elbaph, with that legendary Fruit’s power unlockable once Harald, King of the Giants of Elbaph, eats it.

These Fruits, for Rocks, are the key to fight Imu on the Holy Land of Mary Geoise.

Since Rocks has never heard of Nika, it is likely that the famous Devil Fruit he is looking for on Elbaph is not the Nika fruit but the one Loki possesses and mistakes for the Sun God’s Fruit.

With Xebec’s words this chapter, Loki’s Devil Fruit, which he took 14 years ago on the same day he lost his father Harald, could be the activation trigger for the Galera’s revival, much like the Ancient Weapon Poseidon is able to command the Sea Kings, who are actually intelligent creatures and capable of free will.

For Rocks, the strongest warriors of Elbaph, the Galera, and Harald’s fruit, as a combined force, will be enough, from his initial perspective after his attack on Mary Geoise 56 years ago, to take on Imu.

The God Valley Incident might have proven that this would not be enough yet at the same time, Imu also desired the power of the Giants as a mercenary army to reshape the world, perhaps even fearing them being used against him.

Both Imu and Rocks had the same agenda for the Giants of Elbaph yet Imu likely ordered the Galera to be frozen and hidden away.

Is it because these potentially Ancient Giants were responsible for constructing the Ancient Weapons?

It seems that raw strength would not have been the only factor.

The conversation ends with Loki why Harald and Rocks are not allies, to which Xebec says that it is because of love.

It is quite a loaded line.

Xebec would not want to force Harald to join him out of respect for the man as a friend but Harald chose not to ally with Xebec out of love for his sons and country.

Since Harald is dead and Loki is the crown prince of Elbaph, it seems that finding the Galleila crew and setting off the One Piece version of the Rumbling now falls to Loki.

This also aligns with the theft of Elbaph’s Legendary Devil Fruit and Loki seemingly in possession of it, similar circumstances to Attack on Titan’s Founding Titan except Loki is of the bloodline.

The Elbaph Arc is a tipping point for the Final War.

If the Giants are under Imu’s control, it is over for the One Piece world.

But if the Giants are restored and choose to join the Final War on Luffy and the world’s side, then Imu’s chances of controlling everything are lost, even if individually, those forces would not be enough to fully beat the Great Taboo himself.
