Will we finally see more of Asa Mitaka’s tragic backstory in the next chapter?
In the previous Chainsaw Man chapter, Denji’s archnemesis, Barem Bridge, has been erased by Pochita, and together with Death and Famine, Pochita faces the opening of the doors of Hell.
Who will emerge?
Chainsaw Man Chapter 215 is titled, “Declaration of War”
This chapter has 14 pages.
The chapter begins where we left off as a door from Hell opens up, flesh pours out and shows Yoru sitting on it like a throne.
Death presents their ultimatum: Yoru can weaponize her, Famine and Denji under the condition that Yoru stay permanently in their home in Hell.
Yoru refuses to agree, with Death warning her that Yoru will die instantly with her powers.
Yoru points out that Death cannot control her powers, meaning she will accidentally kill her friends from the karaoke, who happen to be in Yoru’s custody as hostages.
Calling out Death for having unfair powers, Yoru tells Death that if she uses them, those friends die.
Ultimately, Yoru reveals she did not come here for the two Horsemen but for a battle with Chainsaw Man.
However, this battle seemingly ends instantly as Yoru is cut up into many pieces while smiling and Pochita is shot in multiple spots by Yoru’s Gun and Tank Devil Arms.
Meanwhile in his mindscape, kid Denji looks for Pochita and comes across a young Asa, who is also looking for something in the same alleyway as Denji’s door.
Will we finally see what lays beyond Asa’s own door?
Doors represent the origin of all fear: the unknown.
That is why Hell is made of doors and Devils emerge from them.
And in Denji’s case, trauma, long repressed, forgotten.
That dark origin that explains the ever-gnawing misery of being, even after the origin’s death.
Has Asa experienced parental abuse or much worse in her childhood before the destruction caused by devils?
Chainsaw Man Chapter 216 will be released on October 1, 2025.
