@dreamofartist/reddit x BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Igaguri seemingly convinces Nagi to take Buratsuta’s offer to return to Blue Lock.

Blue Lock Chapter 311 is titled, “Side-B”

This chapter has 20 pages.

Editor’s note: “1 Day before the U-20 WC.”

“We are making final preparations for the first match! We are working hard to win.!Sharpen your ego!!”

The chapter begins with a practice match as Isagi secures a goal.

Isagi remarks that Hiori is one tempo too slow and that his your cross was just a bit too early and would have been blocked.

Hiori remarks that while he understands what Isagi is saying, doing everything all of a sudden is impossible

Karasu notes how stiff Isagi is, which annoys Isagi as he reminds them of their goa lto win the U-20 World Cup.

Hiori admits Isagi is in the right because of his idealism for victory.

Isagi wanted Karasu to say it more decently whereas Karasu says that Isagi should not make it look like they half-assed the effort.

Aiku breaks up Isagi and Karasu before they could fight physically.

Aiku reminds them to “keep your passion hot, but your communication cool.”

Isagi apologizes.

Rin comes along to tell Isagi not to be too cocky and think he is the center of the team, that things should go his way.

While the two stare off, Buratsuta suddenly arrives, still calling the Blue Lock team his fellow money-maker but corrects himself, saying they are gemstones of talent.

Ego tells Buratsuta not to come to his site but Buratsuta says he has only come here to greet the team and so he reveals the deal he and Ego made behind the scenes.

Buratusta announces that the maximum number of players for the U-20 World Cup is 26, not 23 and he has secured the remaining 3 slots.

The first slot goes to Sae Itoshi, much to Rin’s shock.

However, Buratsuta clarifies that Sae will only play in the knockouts.

The remaining 2 slots are already chosen for the purpose of what Buratsuta calls “Side B”, a gathering of 300 players to create the new Blue Lock.

This will be a heated battle on Blue Lock TV, essentially a second show alongside all the broadcasts for the U-20 World Cup.

Otoya thinks this Blue Lock 2 (or Season 2) is a rip-off but Kiyora and Bachira agree that it is full of idiots like the original Blue Lock First Selection and it is expected of Blue Lock.

I wonder if Kaneshiro is actually making fun of “PNG Lock”.

Buratsuta reveals the selection of 300 players, one of them shocking Isagi in particular.

It is none other than Ryosuke Kira.

Many have rightfully theorized Kira’s return and attributed it to a few reasons:

First, Kira disagrees with Jinpachi Ego’s selfish methodology of evolving the best striker, so he is willing to prove Ego is wrong by performing his best in the match.

Second, Kira left Blue Lock in bad terms, seeking revenge because he was betrayed by Isagi, so Kira will act as a secondary but more bitter rival to Isagi.

Most of all, Kira is surprisingly popular among the fans even though he only appeared in Episode 1 of the entire series.

Because he was prematurely disqualified during the First Selection, we never got to see how skilled Kira is or his Weapon.

If he goes into a match with Isagi, it will be interesting to see how he will operate as an opponent and teammate.

According to Buratsuta, the two representatives of Blue Lock are considering of turning the finals into a huge media event to broadcast worldwide, to be a massive news story along with the combined tournament

In contrast to Ego’s rule that those who fail Blue Lock are “dead” and will never return, for Buratsuta, even if those players fail, they will not die until the final qualification to join Blue Lock.

As Buratsuta leaves, Isagi asks about Ego’s plan, about Blue Lock itself.

Ego says not to be bothered by worry or other foolish emotions as the Chairman only cares about money and gambling yet Ego intends to use this moment to make the players stronger.

Isagi asks about the rule, that those who lose in Blue Lock will never join Japan’s national team and worries about Kira’s return.

Ego simply says he will not use Kira as that decision is his, not Buratsuta’s.

Ego says that Side-B is just a mere distraction, outside the plan, but if the U-20 team loses, Ego will be expelled from the Blue Lock project.

Therefore, until the finals, he will not hand over Blue Lock to anyone.

The chapter ends with Seishiro Nagi returning to Blue Lock, preparing to join the Side-B tournament.

Editor’s note: “2 hours left until the opening of the U-20 WC

Just a little longer until it begins!

What will this mysterious silence lead to”

Blue Lock Chapter 312 is titled, “Toward the U-20 World Cup!” and will be released on July 23, 2025.
