Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 Has Been Confirmed
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is set to return but without the familiar faces we know and love.
During Anime Expo on July 4, 2025, we received confirmation that Cyberpunk Edgerunners will be returning with Season 2.
With the announcement came a key visual drawn by Ichigo Kanno from Studio Trigger, who provided key animation for Season 1 and will serve as character designer for Season 2.
Producer and writer Bartosz Sztybor is again working on the series,
In place of Trigger founder and Season 1 director Hiroyuki Imaishi is Kai Ikarashi, a storyboard artist, animation director, animator, and prop designer for the first season.
This will be a standalone story from the previous season but like the previous season, will have 10 episodes.
However, Bartosz Sztybor confirms David will not return in Season 2:
“Don’t get too excited. David’s dead. But the Night City lives on.”
This is because Sztybor wanted to “make the whole world sad” with Season 1:
