In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Uruha clashes with Yura while Hakuri is escorted by as they escape from the Hishaku.

Kagurabachi Chapter 89 is titled, “Chaotic Fight”.

This chapter has 20 pages, including the color page.

The color page features Hakrui and Uruha posing for a fight.

Editor’s note: “A true legend.”

The chapter begins with a passage as we see the bare back of one of the Enchanted Blade wielders.

“If it rains without clouds.. Evil will perish. When hail falls in summer, evil will perish. Thunder without the sign of dark clouds? Evil. Will perish.”

These numerous weather-related legends are the results of one, mischievous boy.

At the age of 20 during the Seitei War, he made a name for himself alongside the young Samura.

The Ex-wielder of the Enchanted Blade, ‘Cloud Gouger’

Ibuki Misaka.

Three years ago, on the day Kunishige Rokuhira was assassinated by the Hishaku, Misaka was also assassinated, this time only by one man.

We cut to the present, where we see Azami look at the molten remains of the Samurai Hishaku, only this was just a puppet, a substitute controlled by Sorcery.

We now meet the real face of the Samura Hishaku, wearing the same outfit but without the mask, showing that he has a small mustache.

He is at a cigarette stall, remarking that Azami is quite strong and that his puppet cannot compete with him.

A man orders a cigarette from the old lady who owns the store, as well as for an odd job, which is as a bodyguard for Seiun Co.

The man also asks the Samurai Hishaku for a flame to light his cigarette.

The Hishaku obliges and uses his sword to light the cigarette and makes it look like he did not use his sword to do it.

The old woman saw the whole thing, however, remarking that the Hishaku lit the cigarette by starting a fire with friction alone.

The Hishaku says that if someone is good at controlling spiritual energy, even a simple bit of friction can cause a change in temperature.

The Pine Sorcerer called the Samurai Hishaku, asking what he is doing and we now learn the name of the Samurai Hishaku, one of Kunishige’s three killers, Hokuto.

It seemed that Hokuto was annoyed and a bit tired from the mission, so Pine Sorcerer reminds him that while his Sorcery is potent, his real value comes from the man himself and his swordsmanship.

We learn from this phone call that Hokuto was the one who killed Misaka by himself while his puppet Sorcery joined the Pine Sorcerer and the other one in killing Kunishige.

Hokuto reminds him that Misaka was no longer a sword master by the time he killed him three years ago.

Misaka was in his 30s and he lost his edge fairly early compared to those who were still really good with the blade like Samura and Uruha.

Hokuto is annoyed that he is being compared to the weakest version of Misaka.

Pine Sorcerer apologizes but Hokuto tells him that he spent years perfecting and modifying his technique but ever since then, he could not give it his all and has longed for a proper sword fight.

Pine Sorcerer assumes Hokuto will not continue the offensive against Kamunabi Headquarters, so he brings up Shirakai’s granddaughter, Kiri but Hokuto says she is just a little girl to him.

Then Pine Sorcerer brings up someone related to Misaka, the previous Cloud Gorger wielder but is cut off by some news.

He informs Hokuto that Uruha is actually alive and is currently fighting Yura and the four other Hishaku members, which excited Hokuto.

He blows an air kiss towards the old lady, who blushes, and runs off excitedly.

We then cut to Kamunabi Headquarters Level 3: Training Room where we see someone listening to music on his headphones in a training room full of logs.

The cassette reads (Aka Ooki.. Akadagi? – Mitsuhide) / Korosu!! (to kill)

This individual wore nothing on the top and the logs are launched at him but without even looking, he slices them up easily.

We see the man’s face, which had a bottom lip piercing and a scar running across the bridge of his nose.

He is actually the younger brother of Ibuki Misaka by 2 years and judging from the timeline, this makes him 36 years old now.

In contrast to its inspiration, Naruto, Kagurabachi makes anyone close to 40 actually younger. Look at Samura for example. He is 40 years old and looks fairly young but you can tell he is at that age.

He recalls how he and his brother used to be undefeated in their hometown, where if his brother beats up the guy on his right, he does the same to the guy on his left.

The Misaka brothers were delinquents who wore jackets with the famous Buddha passage: “I alone am the honored one”.

Could this also be Hokazono paying tribute to Jujutsu Kaisen as well as this is one of Satoru Gojo’s most famous lines?

The two eventually made names for themselves in Tokyo during the Seitei War and Ibuki was chosen to bear Cloud Gorger.

Ibuki even said that they were always the strongest when they fought together.

This is the brotherly version of Gojo and Geto then.

The brother also wanted an Enchanted Blade but Kunishige chose Uruha, who was then 17-years old and a newcomer of the White Iai Purity Style.

This confirms that Uruha is just 35 years old and he currently looks exactly the same as he did during the war.

Ibuki once told his brother that it cannot be helped that someone else was chosen, saying that if you show any slight weakness, you will be eliminated.

And indeed it came to be as after the war, Ibuki gave up swordsmanship completely and this is what led him to be killed.

Yet the younger brother claims to be different, training nonstop each day for 18 whole years.

The brother’s name is Natsuki Misaki.

A subordinate informs him of the Hishaku’s arrival in the 5th level of the west side of HQ, which provokes him to action.

The brother of the deceased former Cloud Gorger wielder and the Hishaku who killed him are about to meet in a fated clash!

It is a shame Cloud Gorger is gone for good after the Rakuzaichi Arc but we now see more of the previous wielder’s story through his living brother.

Weekly Shonen Jump is on Summer Break, so Kagurabachi Chapter 90 will be released on August 18, 2025.
